NERVOUS SYSTEM
The nervous system is the major
control system of homeostasis. It
provides monitoring, response,
and regulation of all systems in the
human body and other organism.

1/7/20XX Pitch deck 5

NERVOUS SYSTEM
The nervous system controls
and coordinates functions
throughout the body and
responds to internal and
external stimuli

1/7/20XX Pitch deck 6

NERVOUS SYSTEM
Central Nervous System (CNS)
- main processing center
- Brain and the spinal cord

Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)

- relays message to and from the
CNS
- all nerves that go from the CNS
to all parts of the body
1/7/20XX Pitch deck 7
NEURON - the basic unit of the nervous system

1/7/20XX Pitch deck 8

NEURON - the basic unit of the nervous system
SENSORY NEURONS: These transmit the
nerve impulses from tissues and organs
to the spinal cord and brain.
MOTOR NEURONS: These neurons are
responsible for transmitting the nerve
impulses from the brain and spinal cord
to the muscles and glands.
INTERNEURONS: The interneurons
connect one neuron to another. They
transmit signals from sensory neurons
and other interneurons to the motor
neurons.
