VEHICLE ATTENDANCE SYSTEM FOR

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS USING RFID

AND IMAGE RECOGNITION"

Presented by

ABSTRACT
 The "Vehicle Attendance System for Educational
Institutions using RFID and Image Recognition" is an
innovative project that aims to automate the attendance
process of vehicles entering and exiting educational
institutions. The system is designed to provide a hassle-
free and efficient method of monitoring the attendance of
vehicles and ensure the safety of students and faculty
members
 The system is based on two advanced technologies:
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Image
Recognition.
 The RFID system is used to identify the vehicles, while
the Image Recognition system is used to detect and
verify the number plates of the vehicles.
 The system is also equipped with a database that stores
the attendance records of vehicles, which can be
accessed by authorized personnel. The project has
immense potential to revolutionize the attendance system
of educational institutions and improve their overall
security.
INTRODUCTION

 The Vehicle Attendance System for Educational

Institutions using RFID and Image Recognition is a
cutting-edge technology that streamlines the attendance
process for vehicles entering and exiting educational
institutions.
 This system utilizes RFID and Image Recognition
technologies to automate the attendance process and
reduce human error. It is an essential system for
educational institutions that need to manage their
transport services and ensure the safety and security of
their students and staff.
EXISTING SYSTEM
 One of the major problems with traditional vehicle
attendance systems in educational institutions is the
reliance on manual data entry and recording.
 This can result in errors, inconsistencies, and delays in the
attendance process, leading to inefficiencies and potential
security risks.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
 The Vehicle Attendance System for Educational
Institutions using RFID and Image Recognition will
work by installing RFID readers and cameras at the entry
and exit points of the institution.
 When a vehicle enters or exits the institution, the RFID
reader will capture the unique identification code of the
vehicle's RFID tag.
 The image recognition system will also capture an image
of the vehicle's license plate, and using advanced
algorithms, it will match the vehicle's identification code
with the license plate image.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

 OPERATING SYSTEM : Windows 7/ XP/8

 FRONT END : Html,css,java script.
 SERVER SIDE SCRIPT : Php
 DATABASE : Mysql
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

 HARD DISK : 500 GB

 RAM : 8 GB
 PROCESSOR : Pentium IV

 I/O DEVICES : Keyboard, Mouse

SOFTWARE DISCRIPTION
PHP (recursive acronym for PHP:
Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-
used open source general-purpose
scripting language that is especially
suited for web development and can
be embedded into HTML.
MODULES
 RFID Reader Module: This module would involve
setting up RFID readers at the entry and exit points of
the institution's premises. Each vehicle entering the
premises would have an RFID tag attached to it, and the
reader would read the tag and send the data to the central
database.
 Image Recognition Module: This module would involve
setting up cameras at the entry and exit points to capture
images of the vehicles entering and leaving the premises.
The images captured would be processed using image
recognition software to identify the license plate
numbers of the vehicles.
 Central Database Module: This module would involve
setting up a central database to store the data collected
by the RFID readers and image recognition software.
The database would store information such as the date
and time of vehicle entry and exit, the RFID tag number,
and the license plate number of the vehicle.
 User Interface Module: This module would involve
developing a user interface for the system, which would
allow authorized personnel to view and manage the data
stored in the central database. The user interface would
also allow them to generate reports and monitor the
attendance of vehicles on the institution's premises.
 Alert Notification Module: This module would involve
setting up an alert notification system to notify the
authorized personnel when a vehicle enters or leaves the
institution's premises. The notification system can be set
up using email, SMS, or any other communication
channel.
 Overall, the vehicle attendance system for educational
institutions using RFID and image recognition
technology can help streamline the process of managing
vehicles entering and leaving the institution's premises,
providing real-time attendance data and improving the
overall security and safety of the institution.

IMPLEMENTATION
 Implementation is the most crucial stage in achieving a
successful system and giving the user confidence that the
new system is workable and effective.
CONCLUSION
 In conclusion, the implementation of a vehicle
attendance system using RFID and image recognition
technology in educational institutions can provide
various benefits. The system can ensure that only
authorized vehicles are allowed to enter the campus, thus
improving security measures. Additionally, it can also
provide an accurate record of attendance, which can help
in managing student transportation and ensure the safety
of students.
