The Philippines' food supply and economy both
heavily rely on the cultivation of rice. A crop
calendar is a visual representation of your rice
growing season, from fallow land preparation
through crop establishment, management,
harvest, and storage. Farm activities are better
planned and carried out at the appropriate
times by employing a crop calendar. It is simpler
to arrange labor and get inputs like fertilizer
and seed. Planning more effectively will lower
input costs and boost yields.
By sending Short Message Service (SMS) notifications, the
farmers can quickly be informed about the management
of rice from planting to harvesting through the use of this
project. The "Start to plant" button will be clicked by
farmers to start the rice harvest. After that, when the
farmers apply fertilizer, spray insecticides, pull weeds,
manage the water, and harvest the crop, the system in an
Android phone will automatically send SMS notifications.
On the date when the rice was planted, notifications will
be given. The notifications will be transmitted to an
Android phone using an Arduino Microcontroller and
GSM Module. In addition, the project may take pictures
of the present state of the rice field and send them to an
Android phone using Arducam and the ESP8266 Module.

Using it will have an accurate and good rice
growth, it is convenient and user friendly to
have a better planning of all farm activities
and the cost of production. A cropping
calendar is a schedule of the rice growing
season from the fallow period and land
preparation, to crop establishment and
maintenance, to harvest and storage. With
just clicking buttons in your android phone
you can monitor the status of the rice if its
ready, needed of pesticides, water level,
humidity, and soil moisture, which affect the
growth of the rice plants. Monitoring the rice
plant is very important so that we can know
what’s the growth or status of them and
prepare for the next step when growing rice
plants.
