Introduction
• In today’s world due to busy schedule people cannot take care or concentrate on their health.

• The proposed system is a responsive application which contain the

knowledge regarding fitness of a person so there is a need to suggest a diet plan which help
the persons to maintain fitness.

• An AI dietician is an artificial intelligence (AI) technology that is designed to provide

personalized nutrition recommendations to individuals based on their unique dietary
requirements and health goals.

• These AI systems can analyze vast amounts of data, including an individual's medical
history, current health status, and lifestyle habits, to create a customized nutrition plan that
can optimize their health and wellbeing.

Review
1) "Predicting Daily Nutrient Intake from food Logs
using Deep Learning" by Min Chen et al.(2020)
• Our approach to predicting daily nutrient intake involves
using Deep Learning models, such as Convolutional Neural
Networks and Recurrent Neural Networks, to analyse foodlogs
and predict nutrient intake.
• We will also incorporate Natural Language Processing
techniques to extract relevant information from food
descriptions. By combining these techniques, we can create
accurate models that help individuals make healthier choices.

Literature Review 7
Advantages
• Improved accuracy: Big data analytics can help identify patterns and
trends in large datasets that may not be apparent with smaller datasets. This
can result in more accurate predictions of daily nutrient intake from food logs.
• More comprehensive analysis: With big data, it is possible to analyze a
wide range of variables that may affect nutrient intake, such as demographics,
lifestyle factors, and environmental factors. This can provide a more
comprehensive understanding of nutrient intake patterns.
• Real-time analysis: Big data analytics can be used for real-time analysis of
nutrient intake, allowing for more timely interventions and adjustments to
dietary habits

Literature Review
8
Disadvantages
• Data quality issues: The accuracy and completeness of food log data can be a
concern, which can affect the accuracy of nutrient intake predictions. Data quality
issues may include incomplete or inaccurate food log entries, missing nutrient
information, or inconsistent labeling.
• Privacy concerns: Big data analytics involves the collection and analysis of large
amounts of personal data, which raises privacy concerns. There is a risk that sensitive
personal information could be exposed or misused.
• Ethical considerations: The use of big data analytics in predicting nutrient intake
raises ethical concerns, including potential biases and discrimination based on
demographic or personal factors, as well as the impact on traditional cultural and social
dietary patterns.

2) "Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Personalized
Nutrition: A Review" by Yahya A.Alzahrani et al.
(2021)
• The paper begins by addressing the increasing prevalence of
chronic diseases related to nutrition, such as obesity, diabetes,
and cardiovascular diseases, and the need for personalized
nutrition interventions to address these health challenges.
• AI can potentially revolutionize personalized nutrition by
leveraging large datasets, machine learning algorithms, and
predictive modelling to analyse complex interactions between
diet, genes, lifestyle, and health outcomes.

Literature Review
10
Advantages
• Improved Personalization: AI has the potential to provide
highly individualized and tailored nutrition interventions
• Enhanced Efficiency: AI can process and analyse large
amounts of data quickly and accurately
• Data-Driven Insights: AI can analyse complex interactions
between diet, genes, lifestyle, and health outcomes, providing
data-driven insights that can enhance our understanding of the
relationship between nutrition and health

Literature Review
11
Disadvantages
• Data Quality and Privacy Concerns: AI relies on large datasets for
training and validation, and the quality of data used can significantly
impact the accuracy and reliability of AI-based nutrition
interventions
• Ethical Considerations: The use of AI in personalized nutrition
raises ethical considerations such as bias in data collection
• Human Touch and Contextual Factors: Personalized nutrition
interventions often require consideration of human touch, such as
dietary preferences, cultural norms, and social context, which may
not be fully captured by AI algorithms

3) "A Mobile Health Application for Personalized Nutrition
Recommendations Using Deep Learning" by Hanieh Yaghoubi
et al. (2020)
• The paper proposes a mobile health app that uses deep learning to
provide personalized nutrition recommendations based on user data. It
has three modules: data collection module, recommendation module, and
feedback module.
• The data module collects the information from users input like height
weight etc.
• The recommendation module uses deep learning techniques to analyze
the collected data and generate personalized nutrition recommendations
for the user.
• The feedback module allows the user to provide feedback on the
recommendations and track their progress towards their goals.

Literature Review
13
Advantages
• Personalized recommendations: The proposed mobile health application
generates personalized nutrition recommendations based on a user’s input

• Accessibility: The mobile application is accessible to users anywhere and

anytime, which means that users can monitor on the go
• Convenience: The food diary feature of the application allows users to easily
record their daily food intake, which could help to reduce the burden of manual food
tracking and monitoring.
• Accuracy: It is trained on a large dataset of food intake data and associated
nutritional information, which could increase the accuracy of the generated
personalized recommendations.

Literature Review
14
Disadvantages
• Data privacy: The mobile health application requires users to provide personal
information which could raise concerns around data privacy and security.
• Limited food database: The accuracy of the personalized recommendations
generated by the application could be limited
• Reliance on technology: The mobile health application relies heavily on
technology, which could be a barrier for some users who are not familiar with using
technology or who do not have access to the necessary devices or internet connection.

Problem Definition
An AI dietician is an AI-based system that aims to provide personalized and effective
dietary recommendations to individuals based on their unique health conditions,
dietary habits, preferences, and goals. The problem is to develop an AI dietician that
can accurately assess and analyze the nutritional requirements of individuals, create
tailored diet plans that are both healthy and enjoyable, and monitor the progress of
individuals over time to make adjustments as necessary. The AI dietician should be
able to take into account factors such as age, gender, weight, height, body mass index
(BMI), physical activity, medical history, food allergies, and cultural food preferences
when generating the personalized dietary recommendations. Additionally, the system
should be able to provide explanations and justifications for its recommendations to
build trust and confidence with users. The goal is to create an AI-based dietician that
can help individuals achieve their health and wellness goals while promoting healthy
eating habits and preventing chronic diseases.
