Setting Up Your Gradebook -
Categories
Categories are parent folder for items
Examples of categories include exams, quizzes, homework, projects,
etc
CREATE GRADEBOOK CATEGORY
Create a category called, “Exams”
Set aggregation to, “sum of grades.”
Create an item called “Test 1: Health Basics”
Setting Up Your Gradebook -
Items
Items appear inside categories
Examples of items include specific objects such as “Test 1,
Assignment, 2, or Quiz 3.”
Optional, not necessary and are automatically aggregated as you
build your course

Forum
Can contribute significantly to successful communication, community
building
May cultivate social bonds, interest groups

Forum Terminologies
Post – user submitted message enclosed into a block containing
user’s details such as date/time of posting
Thread – referred to as “Topic” which is collection of posts
Emoticon – symbol to convey emotions = ) or : (
How To Set Up a Forum
in 3 Steps
Step 1: Turn editing on

Step 2: Add an activity…Forum

Step 3: Input Forum name and configure settings

Upload A Single File
Used to turn in assignment such as essay, photograph, or any file
Examples include assessment, survey, assignment, quiz, test, etc
CREATE AN ASSIGNMENT
Create an assignment where a student must write 3 paragraphs
Make assignment worth 20 points

Used to turn in assignments that require multiple files .
Examples include group projects or multi-file assignments
