Career Fair

Overview of Career Fair

THE COUNSELING DEPARTMENT WILL CREATE AND SPEAKERS WILL GIVE AN OVERVIEW OF THEIR AFTER AUDITORIUM SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT,
DELIVER A 120-MINUTE SCHOOL WIDE CAREER FAIR CAREERS IN THE AUDITORIUM TO EACH GRADE LEVEL SPEAKERS WILL BE GIVEN LUNCH WHERE THEY CAN
DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER EACH YEAR ON AN ASSIGNED DAY. STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER ON OUR BACK LAWN.

Recruiting Speakers
• We will ask all students from grades to fill out a survey on
which careers they would like to see during the
presentation

• For any careers that we can not provide representation of,
students will be given a pamphlet answering all the
questions they would like to know
• Students, stakeholders, parents, and teachers will be
given a flyer advertising the career day. A QR code will be
on flyer that directs protentional speakers to a Google
Form that they will fill out to participate

Example Timeline

• 8:15 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. (Volunteers check in and receive


a Chick-Fil-A breakfast spread)
• 9: 15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (student transition)
• 9:30 a.m. - 11: 30 a.m. ( Designated grade levels
arrive in auditorium)
• 11:30 a.m. – 1: 00 p.m. (Lunch for presenters)
Culminating Event

Friday, November 4th


• The last day of our Career and College Week
will involve students dressing up as their potential
career choices.
• Students will then be required to do a
short essay presentation on what they learned about
a specific career while including information about
the educational journey that would have to be taken. 
• All presentations will take place in the student's
English class and will be counted for a grade.
Career Fair Promotion
• Notify students/parents of upcoming event during Open House or other
Back to School activities
• This will be done in hopes of procuring volunteers for the event
as well.
• Volunteers will then be instructed to apply on our Google Form
we create specifically for the career fair.
• During career focused school counseling guidance lessons, the school
counselors will promote the event and encourage students to
recommend/refer volunteers.
• Parents and students will receive the poster on the left as a take-home flyer
during the first few weeks of school.
• The poster will also be placed around the school during the first week and
will remain posted until the career and college week has passed.
Career Fair Promotion

• There will be daily reminders during the school


morning/afternoon announcements
• The career fair will be promoted on the school
master calendar 
• We will reach out and maintain contact with
stakeholders/community workers via telephone and
email.
• The flyer on the left is a detailed calendar for the
career fair that will be sent home with students
closer to the event date.
Incorporating
Career and
College
• All presenters will be encouraged to
speak about education that was
needed for their careers as well.
• Students will attend their respective
career fair presentations with 5 copies
of the career fair questionnaire on the
right. 
• This questionnaire will assist students
in their Career Dress Up Day
presentations while also providing
insight into the careers and education
of the presenters.
Staff will be encouraged to
participate in our career dress up
day as well.

Buy In Staff will also post on a wall
devoted to career day, the
careers and education they have
attained over their lifespan
