What is Tesla ?
 Tesla, Inc. (formerly Tesla Motors, Inc.), is an American electric vehicle and clean energy
company based in Palo Alto, California. The company specializes in electri
vehicle manufacturing, battery energy storage from home to grid scale and, through its
acquisition of SolarCity, solar panel and solar roof tile manufacturing.

 Musk, who formerly served as

chairman and is the current
CEO, said that he envisioned
Tesla Motors as a technology
company and independent
automaker, aimed at
eventually offering electric
cars at prices affordable to the
average consumer.
 Why do I consider these cars manufactured by Tesla to be an IoT
project ?
 Well, first of all these cars are incredibly intelligent, equipped with very modern technologies
and are connected to eatch others and I will give a couple of reasons for that and I’ll explain
why :
• Connectivity to the internet.
• It does have an app on appstore for you to connect to your Tesla car.
• Incredibly advanced autopilot.
• Environmentally friendly
 Connectivity to the internet
 Connectivity is an important part of all Tesla
cars, further enhancing the driving experience
by providing access to features that require data
usage — including live traffic visualization,
streaming music and media, over-the air
software updates and more.
 All cars come with Standard Connectivity which
provides access to most connectivity features
over Wi-Fi only, in addition to basic maps and
navigation and music streaming over Bluetooth.

connecting the software part of these smart cars
with data from the internet and people togheter

 It's incredibly how smart the technology becomes and how you can now so easily
interact with your car via an app
 The Tesla app puts owners in direct communication with their vehicles and Powerwalls
anytime, anywhere. With this app, you can:
- Check charging progress in real time and start or stop charging
- Heat or cool your car before driving – even if it's in a garage
- Lock or unlock from afar
- Locate your vehicle with directions or track its movement
- Send an address from your favorite apps to start navigation in your car
- Allow your passengers to quickly control media
- Flash lights or honk the horn to find your vehicle when parked
- Vent or close the panoramic roof
- Summon your vehicle out of your garage or a tight parking space (for vehicles with
Autopilot)
- Update your vehicle software from wherever you are
- Engage with Powerwall: monitor how much energy is stored from solar, used by your
home, or exported to the grid
- Download your solar production and battery usage data
 One of the cool things I
wanted to mention again is
that you can heat up the
seats of the car and the
entire car with the app
which is connecting you
with your car via your
phone

 Tesla has rolled out an update for its mobile app that can ensure you're sliding into a warm and
toasty car in this wintry weather. You can now use the app to remotely activate your electric
vehicle's heated seats -- you only need to tap on that part of the car's virtual model within the
application.

Environmentally friendly
Tesla is Much More Than an Eco-Friendly Car
 The Tesla company is a revolution, no doubt. Cars manufactured in the Tesla factories differ
from standard vehicles by so many things. These cars are not just an eco-friendly version of a
normal car, they are much more and they will probably very soon take over the market and the
automotive business.
 The main difference is powering. If gas is the number one fuel for cars around the world, Tesla
cars are using electricity as their fuel. This makes a huge impact on the environment pollution
as electricity lives no trace whatsoever in the air and the noise is minimal.
