Purpose of the project

• In line with the cost reduction initiative to save electrical

energy.
• Reduction in spare procurement cost.
• Reduction in maintenance cost.
• Easy to maintain.
• Latest switchgear to control with enhance reliability.

Page 3
Existing System
• Pump Capacity -750M3/hr.
• Motor Rating -
KW-180 , RPM-1500,
Voltage - 3.3KV, 3-Ph
• Energy consumption
per day- 4615.4 KWh

Currently there are three such pumps.

Only one pump runs at a time

Page 4
Proposed New System

• Pump Capacity-300 M3/hr.

• Motor Rating-
KW- 90, RPM-1500, Voltage-415V, 3-Ph
• Energy consumption per day- 2292.96 KWh

Page 5
Saving of energy with proposed
system

• Normally loading of motor

around 85% to 90%
So, annual energy saving
with the new pump set =2322.44x0.85X365
=720537.01 KWh

Page 6
Saving in Cost
• Since energy cost is Rs.6116 /MWh.
So, annual saving in cost Rs.=
(720537.01X6674)/1000
= 44.06 lakhs.
So, New Pump Motor set will save
approximately Rs. 44 lakhs
annually

Page 7
Water Saving
There will be considerable
saving in volume of water
circulation, since capacity
of new pump is 300 cu.m./hr
compared to 750 cu.m/hr of
old one.

Page 8
Future Plan

Another same capacity

pump can be similarly
modified on availability
of pump.
