PROBLEM STATEMENT

❏ Traffic congestion and high fuel prices cause difficulties for daily personal
vehicle users.
❏ Personal vehicles also contribute to environmental pollution.
❏ Car Pooling is a solution, but security and trust issues arise.
INTRODUCTION

❏ Carpooling is an effective means to reduce pollution and traffic congestion in cities.

❏ Carpooling is an eco-friendly way to travel and provides an opportunity to meet new
people.
❏ Many people prefer private vehicles due to delays and luxury.
❏ Pre-registration ensures security and trust.
LITERATURE SURVEY 1

❏ Research Paper: Ridesharing and Crowdsourcing for Smart Cities

❏ This paper discusses how mobile crowdsourcing can effectively be utilized to meet the
challenges for efficient ridesharing platforms and match drivers and passengers for dynamic
scenarios.
❏ Ridesharing services can take various forms including taxi ridesharing, carpooling, hitchhiking,
and bus pooling
LITERATURE SURVEY 2

❏ Research Paper: Safe Route Carpooling to Avoid Accident Locations and Small-Scale Proof of
Concept in Japan
❏ This paper proposes a Carpooling Problem (CPP) with a focus on safety, which defines the
subsets of employees sharing each car and the routes the drivers should take to optimize and
minimize the total distance.
❏ Carpooling can reduce private car usage, ease commuter traffic congestion, and decrease CO2
emissions.
LITERATURE SURVEY 3

❏ Research Paper : Using Semantic Features for Enhancing Car Pooling System
❏ Social benefits depend on individual preferences, with some people preferring to travel alone,
while others see carpooling as an opportunity to socialize or rest during their trip.
❏ Financial benefits include sharing fuel costs between two or more people, while environmental
benefits are linked to reduced pollution from cars.
LITERATURE SURVEY 4

❏ Research Paper : car pooling system with sms alerts

❏ The development of an Android-based carpooling application is intended to allow people to find
available vehicles for carpooling and share expenses while making new connections.
❏ The proposed carpooling application aims to function like a social networking site, which will
allow it to work beyond a bounded area.
EXISTING SYSTEM

❏ The online carpooling system is an emerging criterion that provides comfortable and
consistent rides for both the user and the car owner.
❏ Using this web application within the city can be somewhat difficult.
❏ The current system does not give the user much option or detail about the people traveling.
PROPOSED SYSTEM

❏ Understanding the drawbacks of previous solution and proposing some issues & feature which
would help to build a more user-friendly and secure carpooling solution.
❏ Advantages:
❏ Security features will include for an female passengers (Emergency SOS), drivers needing to
provide their license and aadhar number before creating a pool.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

❏ Processor – Intel
❏ RAM - 4 Gb
❏ Hard Disk - 512 GB

FUTURE WORK

❏ The project can be deployed on internet in future .we can add some other features in the
future like GPS tracking for an real time tracking the user and driver location, etc.,
CONCLUSION

❏ Carpooling reduces fuel consumption and traffic congestion. It is environment-friendly and

reduces journey time.
❏ It solves transportation problems in areas where car ownership is low.
❏ Users can share rides and split costs. Bookings and payments can be done online or by
phone.
