To create these pictures I used the quick selection tool to create another jar, the same as in my background.

I used this tool I used camera raw filter to bring

to cut out the shape of the jar and then copy and pasted it. I then added the silhouette of my modal and moved the layer 1 down the exposure and
above the modal. This meant that layer 1 was visible on layer 2. I then change the opacity of layer 1 down so that the shadows to make the image
modal could be seen. I did this to create the illusion that the modal was inside the jar. darker in order to create a dull,
sad mood.

To create the silhouettes I used the quick selection tool to separate the modal from
the background. I then took it into camera raw filter and took the exposure, blacks
and shadows down until I was happy with the way it looked.

I cropped the image to centre it.

I changed this to grayscale.

I used camera raw filter to take the

vibrancy and saturation down while
I made sure the paint strokes were underneath experimenting with contrast and highlights
the other layers so that they wouldn’t cover the until I was happy with the picture that
jar. Layer 7 was a cut out of the jar at full opacity would be the background. I also cropped it
and layer 5 was at a low opacity. As the photo was taken with the modals face pointing slightly so that it clearly shows rule of
left, and I wanted it facing the other way, I flipped the thirds.
canvas horizontally.
