Stress
Stress is the human body’s natural guard against all forms of harm or
threat. When we are up against a challenging situation, part of our
reaction is physical. Larger amounts of chemicals such as adrenaline,
cortisol, and noradrenaline are produced by the body. These chemicals
cause increased heart rate, sweating, and alertness, among others.
Learn about It
There are three types of stress: acute stress, episodic acute stress, and
chronic stress. Among these, chronic stress is the most detrimental.
People with chronic stress have a higher probability of having a final
breakdown that can lead to heart attacks, strokes, violent behaviors,
and suicide.
Medical experts say that almost anything can cause stress, even the act
of simply thinking about something. Bereavement, illness, job issues,
family problems, and lack of time or money are some of the common
major life events or issues that can bring about stress.
