 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This study aims to determine the level of self- regulation and academic performance
among Grade 12 HUMSS students of New Society National High School.

Specifically, this study seek to answer the following questions:

1. What is the level of self-regulation among Grade 12 HUMSS students of New Society
National High School?
2. What is the level of academic performance among Grade 12 HUMSS students of
New Society National High School?
3. Is there any significant relationship between the level of self-regulation and the
academic performance among Grade 12 HUMSS students of New Society National High
School?
METHODOLOGY
The researchers used the descriptive-correlation method of research because the
researchers aimed to determine if the variables are related to each other.

Descriptive research involves collecting data in order to answer questions regarding the
variables of the study. Descriptive method proceeds to describe a certain phenomenon.
Therefore, some authorities in research describe it to be collecting of information with
analytical interpretations. On the other hand, correlational research attempts to determine
whether and to what level, a relationship exists between two or more variables.

In this study, the variables to be correlated were the relationship between the teachers’
approach and the satisfaction level of students, school year 2022-2023.

 
Results ( Level of Self-regulation among Grade 12 HUMSS students)
1. Among the statements, it can be observed that the statement,
“When I study for a test I try to remember as many facts as I can.”
got the highest weighted mean of 4.06, described as Most of the
time.This description indicates that the students experienced this in
high level. This also means that the students experienced this in
high level also. The overall weighted mean for the level of self-
regulation is 3.82, described as Most of the time. This mean that the
Grade 12 HUMSS students were self-regulated most of the time.

2. Majority of the population got an Outstanding (90-100) performance which

is 50.00% (82 out of 164 students). This description indicates that the students

have very high learning outcomes. Sixty – eight out of 164 students (41.46%)

got a Very Satisfactory (85-89) performance and fourteen students, which

represents 8.54% of 164 students, achieved a Satisfactory (80-84)

performance.This also means that the students learning outcomes is high. The

mean of 89.39 is described as Very Satisfactory.

3. It reveals that there is a significant relationship

of the level of self-regulation and the academic
performance among Grade 12 HUMSS students
as supported by a computed p-value, 0.000,
which is less than 0.05 level of
significance.Therefore, the result rejects the null
hypothesis.
 CONCLUSIONS
Based on the findings of this study, the following are the conclusions:

1. The overall weighted mean the level of self-regulation is 3.82, described as Most of the

time. This mean that the Grade 12 HUMSS students were self-regulated most of the time.

2. The mean for the academic performance is 89.39 is described as Very Satisfactory. This

means that Grade 12 HUMSS student’s learning outcomes have high level of

performance.

3. There is a significant relationship between the level of self-regulation and the academic

performance among Grade 12 HUMSS students of NSNHS.

RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Students exhibit significantly greater self-control in their learning, making it

advisable to incorporate it on a long-term or predominant basis.

2. It is crucial to take into account the elements that impacted students' self-

governance when considering self-regulation.

3. Maintaining students' regulation is essential for achieving commendable

academic achievements.

4. It is strongly encouraged to duplicate this investigation, either by attempting to

replicate it in different educational institutions or by employing additional variables not

utilized in the original study.
