-The condition of being physical fit. It is the
ability to carry out daily task with vigor and
alertness, without undue fatigue.

Wellness
-health habits on a daily basis to attain better
physical and mental outcomes, so that instead of
just surviving, you're thriving.

Social Wellness
is about building and maintaining positive
relationships that add value to our and other
people’s lives.

Emotional Wellness
is being able to identify how you’re feeling and
why; it’s about acknowledging and effectively
channeling, anger, fear, sadness, stress, hope, love,
happiness, frustration, etc.

Spiritual Wellness

is our ability to establish peace and harmony in


our lives and to be fulfilled by what we do by aligning
our values with our actions.
Environmental Wellness

is being aware of nature, our


environment, and our immediate surroundings.

Occupational Wellness

refers to our ability to feel fulfilled with our jobs


and chosen career paths, without sacrificing work-life
balance; it’s about being involved in work activities that
allow you to show your talents and skill set.
Intellectual Wellness

encompasses creative and stimulating mental


activities. It’s about our ability to open our minds to new
ideas and experiences that can benefit our personal and
professional lives.

Physical Wellness

is about being able to complete daily activities


without extreme fatigue or physical stress and
avoiding destructive habits (sedentary behavior,
drugs, alcohol, tobacco.)

What is Physical Fitness?

Physical fitness refers to the body's ability to:

 perform daily activities efficiently without getting tired easily;

 reduce the risk of acquiring illness or diseases; and

 have extra energy in case of prolonged activities or emergency.

Health-related Components
The health-related components focus on the general
health and proper functioning of the whole body.

 Cardiorespiratory endurance
 Muscular strength

Cardiorespiratory endurance

The ability of the heart, blood vessel, and


respiratory system to deliver oxygen to activate
muscles efficiently for an extended time.
Muscular strength

The ability of muscles to exert force.


Muscular endurance

The ability of muscles to exert force over an extended period.


Flexibility
The ability of the joints to perform through a wide
range of movements.
Body composition

The proportion of the body fat to


lean body mass.
Skill-related Components
The skill-related components refer to athletic ability. It
focuses on improving one's performance in specific activities
such as sport or dance.

Agility
The body's ability to change direction or position
rapidly and accurately while moving space.
Balance
The ability of the body to maintain a stable position
while in a stationary position or while moving. It is
state of equilibrium.
Static Balance
• The ability to maintain one’s
equilibrium in a fixed position.

Dynamic Balance
• The ability to maintain one’s equilibrium
while the body is in motion.
Coordination
The ability to use different body parts in performing more than
one motor movement at a time.
Power
The ability to exert the maximum amount
of force in the shortest possible time.
Reaction time
The amount of time it takes for the
body to respond.
Speed
The ability to perform an action as quickly as
possible.
Understanding the two components of
physical fitness can help you determine
which ones to focus on for a particular
sport that you are interested in.
