Introduction 2
• Watching movies in theatres has been a part of the entertainment
industry for a long time. In other words, it helps them give a
break from monotony. It has evolved greatly in recent years too.
Cinema is a great escape from real life.
• In the last two years we have all been restricted from enjoying
this part of the life. In this project we are analysing the frequency
of spending patterns in theatres after ease in lockdown.
Data Collection 3

• To collect the data we prepared a questionnaire on google

forms and circulated it through social media.

• We received a total of 131 responses.

• Among these responses 77 were of male students and 54

were female students.
Objective 4

• The objective is to perform Chi square test for goodness of

fit to check whether our data follows Poisson Distribution.

• T test for equality of means is performed to check whether

there is significant difference between the average money
spent by female and male students in movie theatre.
Chi squared Test Assumptions 5

• Observations are drawn independently at random.

• Total No. of observations made = N is large. (N > 50)

• Expected frequencies Ei > 5

• In case when third assumption is not made we require combining
more than one neighbouring classes suitably so that we get
Expected frequency for each combined class is not less than 5.
Test for Goodness of fit 6

• Parent population from which sample is drawn is Normal.

• Scale of measurement is Ratio scale.

• Sample observations are independent and population S.D is unknown.

students in movie theatre
Conclusion 10

• In chi square test for goodness for fit we concluded that our
data doesn’t follow Poisson Distribution.

• In T test for equality of two means we concluded that there is

significant difference between the average money spent by
female and male students in movie theatre.

• On an average the male spends more money than the female.
