Background of the Study
• The concept of the study is to identify which among the traditional and online
system is the effective way of learning referring to the academic performance of
the students. It will compare the parameters of both learning system that are
related, academically.
• Before COVID-19 mushroomed some areas in the Philippines, the system of
learning takes place in a classroom setting. Teacher is responsible for regulating
and controlling the flow of information through actual discussions. Traditional
learning system is a face-to-face instruction scenarios, in which teacher is still the
primary source of information. Students can be together with their colleagues,
having a physical interaction with their teacher, and learning from and with each
other. According to Basinda De (February 04, 2018), traditional learning are more
suitable for young children, teenagers, and young adolescents who are yet to
join the workforce. Regular attendance in class helps students interact with
other individuals of their own age, be better disciplined, follow a regular
schedule, and improve their physical fitness and mental alertness; classroom
learning helps students and teachers know each other in a better manner.
• The use of electronic device and the internet forms the major
component of online learning system. Online learning can also be
tamed as a network enabled transfer of skills and knowledge, and
delivery of education is made to a large number recipients at the
same or different times (Benett, Coleman & Co Led.,2020). Online
learning system is a process in which students uses data’s or
wireless fidelity to connect with other classes. Most schools adopt
this system in account of thinking for the safety of the students in
the current situations. Members of a family forced to provide a
material that’s required for his/her siblings, sister/s, and brother/s
classes. It is so expensive, but we have no choice, it is only either a
student stop studying for the meantime or forced his/her self to
study.
• The factors of the two different learning system will give data’s
that helps to formulate which way of learning that abet the students
to perform-well in their studies.
Significance of the Study

The study between Traditional and Online learning system in student’s academic
performance can be a learning explorer for the teachers in MACSAT. This study is
design to monitor the comparative analysis regarding to the academic performance
of the students. The vital result of the study will be beneficial to the following.

• STUDENTS. The result will provide the students on how to adjust and manage the
difficulty and adjustment on the new learning system. It gives an insight to the
students that the new learning system is more challenging and how it will affect
the academic performance.
• TEACHERS. The designated data will guide the teacher’s awareness to the
student; situation in life and to understand the capabilities of every student to
cope up with this new type of learning system. The teachers will also have a
perception on how to attain the academic quality of new learning system as good
as or maybe better than the traditional learning system.
• PARENTS. The parents will have a have understanding
on the student’s capability on this new learning
system that will affect their academic performance.
• RESEARCHERS. This comparative analysis of the study
will give the researchers a much deeper
understanding and knowledge on the difference in
academic performance of the students between
traditional and the online learning system.
• FUTURE RESEARCHERS. The study will have the future
researchers to widen their knowledge and to make
their research easier.
Scope and Limitation

• The study will examine the comparisons between Traditional-

Online Learning system of Senior High School student’s
Academic performance in Micro Asia College of Science and
Technology, Inc. – Iba Campus. The study will be held at Micro
Asia College of Science and Technology, Inc. – Iba Campus. The
respondents will be the Grade 12 students of Micro Asia College
of Science and Technology, Inc. at Iba, Zambales. The Grade 12
was composed of 5 strands, these are: HUMSS, STEM, ICT, HE,
ABM. Using survey as a way to examine the factors related to
the Grade 12 students. The study choose Grade 12 as the
respondents in account of they spent more than a year in
MACSAT, and experience both traditional-online learning system.
