Serviceability
The EH750 has been
designed to maximize:
 Serviceability
Hitachi while designing trucks has kept in
mind, “Serviceability effects Productivity and
Safety”. Service ease and access whether it
be for service inspections, maintenance or
for component change-out, can be found in
these following areas.
 Filter Locations
 Test Port design and location
 Remote Mounted Transmission
 Engine Access, no horse-collar
 Strut access for R&R without removing tire

Durability
The EH750 has been designed
to maximize:
 Durability
Hitachi’s commitment to quality
ensures product durability for long
product life and lasting value.
Frame is robotically welded.
Frame is tapered from front to
back to evenly distribute the load
over the chassis.
Frame welds are transitioned to
eliminate stress concentrations.
Durability
The EH750
 Durability

 Hitachi chooses the DDC/MTU

Series 2000 to take the truck
further before engine overhaul
 Allison Transmission has
remained the transmission
supplier because of a long history
in supporting Hitachi drivetrain
durability.
Durability
The EH750 has been
designed to maximize:
 Durability

 The Hitachi differential and

planetary models and design
remain virtually unchanged after
years of operation with known
durability
Durability
The EH750 has been
designed to maximize:
 Durability
 The Hitachi suspension design
requires very robust trailing arms at
the areas close to the front wheels
(at the location of the load), but
inherit in the design is the spread of
the load through the trailing arms to
the frame at two completely
separate frame locations. The high
arch cross-member located to the
upper rear of the tire area and the
front axle trunnions located at the
front of the frame in the area of the
lower front of the tires.
Operator Comfort
The EH750 has been designed to
maximize:

 Operator Comfort

 A suspension system unlike any

other with true steering geometry
provides unrivaled stability resulting
in better drivability/maneuverability
whether driving loaded or unloaded.
Better maneuverability results in
more productivity.
Operator Comfort
The EH750 has been designed to
Shift Energy
maximize:
Management
 Operator Comfort
 SEM representing “Shift Energy Management”, provides smooth
transmission range shifting by dropping engine torque during
upshifts. This reduces the fatigue of constant shifting felt by the
operator. It also decreases the amount of energy shock to the
complete driveline, increases transmission and driveline component
life. Fewer components replaced and less cost needed to perform
maintenance.
Operator Comfort
The EH750 has been designed to
maximize:

 Operator Comfort

 Rugged durability doesn’t

mean sacrificing driver comfort.
Regardless of what is going on
around the truck, inside the cab
it is quiet and comfortable. The
controls are where the operator
needs them. There is plenty of
display information to monitor
how hard the truck components
are working.
Productivity
The EH750 has been designed to
maximize:

 Productivity
 A well matched power plant and drive-
train keeps the EH750 many paces ahead of
the competition.
 Exceptional speed on grade, on flat level
ground and through corners.
 Inside body dimensions not only maintain
proper capacity without spillage, but allow
matched loaders to quickly fill the EH750
getting it back onto the haul road heading for
the dump site.
 Wet Disc Retarding with high capacity
cooling support ample downhill, loaded,
travel speeds and strong rear wheel braking
when needed.
Productivity
The EH750 has been designed to
maximize:

 Productivity

 True steering geometry, and

minimal tire scuff provided by the
trailing arm king-pin design, provide
reduced tire wear compared to
competitor suspension designs.
 Lateral forces that act on the
front wheels are minimized,
resulting in reduced tire scuffing.
Productivity
The EH750 has been designed to
maximize:
Both Struts at
normal height  Productivity

Dynamic friction (side-wall force)

within the strut is low due to the
Both Struts in features of the ACCU-TRAC design,
compression
allowing the use of a lighter strut
engineered to a smaller diameter
and longer stroke.

Drivers side strut

in compression,
other side in
extension
Environment

FULL FABRICATED BOX SECTION FRAME

Hitachi Comments

Box section members blended using large radii transitions between main rails and
the high-arching cross member. Open channel created by the high arch cross
member provides unrivaled access to the engine and major components. The
benefit is easier maintenance and serviceability.

Competitors Frame designs use the “Horse Collar” concept because of

Suspended King Pin Design. The net result is poor ENGINE accessibility, longer
service hours for maintenance, and higher labor costs.
