reminders to follow. When we
reach that place, how do we
stay safe?
When we go online, there are
safety rules to follow. When we
are already online, How do we
stay safe when we visit
websites?
We should go to website that are good for us and avoid those that
are not. Staying safe in the real world is the same as staying safe
online.
Signs of a Good Website
To know if the website we are visiting a good or
not, we should first discuss the different road
signs we see in the places we visit. Are the ones
below familiar?
These signs are related
to the websites we go
to.
The Kids Zone sign refers to an area where children can go to and do
activities safety. It can also associated with good and safe website to
visit that are approved by our parents
These website teach and entertain using
appropriate language and pictures.
The Slow Proceed with Caution Sign

It means that drivers should drive more carefully


and safely.

We can compare this sign with websites that


make us doubtful to visit. We are not sure if they
are right and safe for us.
• Before we go to these websites, it is best to
ask permission from an adult.
The Stop sign
• It is used to halt drivers before proceeding.
When linked with going online, it is
connected to websites that are
inappropriate and unsafe for us. They
contain things that are not for our age. We
should not visit them

• When we go online, we will observe
that there are many websites
nowadays that ask for our private
information. Do we fill out any form
asking for such right away? We
should definitely not!

It is very important that we know which
information are private and which can be shared.
These are the private information that we
should never give to people we do not know:

• 3. Phone Number
• 4. E-mail address
• 5. Birthday
• 6. Age
• 7. School
• 8. Class Schedule
• 9. Photo/s
• 10. Family members’ private information
Ways to keep Privacy Online
• When we meet or interact with someone
online, it is best not to communicate with that
person especially if he or she asks for private
information. On the other hand, if we know
that person, we also do not give private
information right away. Ask first for the
permission of an adult whom we trust such as
our parents.
