What is Computer ?
What is Computer?
A computer is an electronic device. It receives and accepts data from a user. It can follow instructions and perform operations to produce an output based on the
given date. The data that enters a computer is called raw information. The computer processes data into useful and meaningful information using a set of
instructions called program. Information is the process data on which decisions and actions are based.
Here are the main parts of a computer:

What Computer Can Do

1. A computer can help you solve problems in math.

It can help you add, subtract, multiply, or divide


numbers. You can use the calculator program in a
computer to do this tasks.
 
 
 
2. A computer can help you create documents.

You can make letters, reports, or other documents for your assignments or projects. You can keep records and files too.
 
 
 
 
 
3. A computer can help you listen to music, play games, or watch movies.

A computer has programs that allow you to these activities.


 
 
 
4. A computer can store a large amount of information.

You can keep pictures, letters, images, song lists, movies, and games in its memory, where these
kinds of data can be stored for a long time unless you erase or delete them.
What Computers Cannot Do

1. Computers cannot think and produce data


by itself.

It needs a user. A user is someone who will


give the data it needs. The user will also
provide the instruction that the computer needs
to process the given data. It will then produce
the needed output.
2. A computer cannot repair itself.

When your computer stops working, there could be something wrong with it. You will have to ask
a person who knows how to fix.
3. A computer cannot work
without electricity.

A computer is an electronic device,


hence, it needs electricity. Ask an
elder to help you plug the computer
to its proper outlet.
