WRITING: CORRECT THE ERRORS.
In my opinion, the biggest consequence of
deforestation is animals will don’t have homes.
For example 80% of the animals in Chile live in
forests. if we destroy your habitats, they will die
to illustrate this point, Chile have many
endangered animals that will die if we not
protect the forests, including the huemul deer
and the chilote fox. For this reason, i think
animals will die as a result of deforestation.

BROCHURE EXAMPLE (1)
Introduction
Did you know that there is a very intimate connection between
shredded cheese and the pollution of rivers in Chile?

To begin, Chilean forestry companies are some of the largest

exporters of cellulose pulp in the world: A wood by-product
used for the manufacturing of many consumers products.
Moreover, each year, cellulose pulp production has increased.
Conversely, its production processes are known to be a main
cause of the pollution of rivers. As a result, the contamination
of rivers in Chile has become a very serious matter because it
has affected the health of Chilean population, severely
damaged animal and vegetal species and has accelerated the
desertification of soil.
BROCHURE EXAMPLE (2)
Causes & Effects + Examples
Pollution of rivers has affected the flora and fauna of the south territories
of the country. To illustrate, in 2004, in the Valdivia region, a horrible
situation permanently affected a famous natural sanctuary and its
surrounding areas. To clarify, after four month of the start of operations of
a large cellulose factory, many well-known species began to disappear.
Specifically, black-necked swans and different vegetal species died due to a
negligent release of toxic materials into these species water habitat.
Furthermore, this company as well as other forestry companies of the
region became the main reason for an extreme change of the flora and
fauna. To demonstrate, due to the over-exploitation of native forest
resources and the contamination of its rivers, within the span of one year,
all fauna had changed. Specifically, native forest had been completely cut
down and replaced with pine and cone trees, and many rivers were
permanently contaminated. For all these, the contamination of rivers has
become a severe problem for many flora and fauna species of our country.
BROCHURE EXAMPLE (3)
Solutions + Examples (conclusion)
If the government assigns hydric resources exclusively for
human consumption, several health issues related to polluted
water will be prevented.
If the government strictly enforces its environmental laws
related to disposal of toxic waste into rivers, Endemic species
will be preserved.
If large mining companies restore the natural conditions of
aquifers in the north of the country, erosion of farmable land
will be put to a halt.
All in all, pollution of water resources in our country
damaged people’s health, wildlife and farmable soil to a point
of no return. THIS MUST BE STOPPED, NOW!!!!!!!!!
TASK: BROCHURE
EXPLANATION

• With your partner, prepare a summarized oral

explanation of your brochure .
– Introduction of the topic.
– Main causes and Consequences with examples
– Possible solutions with specific examples.
• Present your brochure to the class.
• Every student has to take notes on the topics presented.
