introduction

In this document I have been asked to help design and build a network and computing solution for your friends music shop.
First music does not have any computer equipment so I will need to do a complete network in my plan and also computer
system that will meet the expectations and future expansions plans. First music will be selling new and used music and will
allow the users to get online and also download music. I am also introducing on how to download music and configure MP3
devices.
User requirements

The user requirements are the customers that must be able to download music, the staff should be able to search for the
any type of music, the manager asked for centralised printing, either one member of staff will set up users and monitor and
maintain the stores computers and network and the cost of the network will be effective. For the computer network
requirements which is three high-spec computers, operating system and application software, shared hardware network
resource, three network users, configured for the users.
My network design

I have chosen a LAN network. As a LAN network all 3 computers will be connected to the switch by a ethnic cable in a
starter topology. 1 computer for staff , 1 is for downloading music and 1 for the manager.
Purpose of a new computer network

The purpose is customers must be able to download music, staff must be to access any type of music, one employee will
set up users and monitor and maintain there stores computer and network also the network must be secure. The manager
has asked for centralised printing. The company needs to have a suite of applications software tools to effectively
download music and the company.
Test plan
Action Test

Printer I will make sure the printer is centralised and associated to all
3 computers

Firewall I will make sure the firewall is twisted on

Virus protection

Router We will make sure the router and switch are both connected to
each other

All 3 computer are up and running I will make certain that folder and files are collective between
the computers
All 3 computer are combined to the centralised printer
Is all 3 computers connected to the network

Software utilities Ensure the router and switch are connected and also the
firewall is on and the antivirus is connected

Switch We will make sure all the correct wiring are connected

Folder and files We will make certain that the folder and files have been
cooperative to all users by config the ip
Network structure

The network will comprise of :

-printer(£50-£170)

-monitors(£30-£100)

-switch 8 ports (£13)

-3 high spec computer(£550-£900)

-router (£70)

This is my scheme for the network, 3 high spec computers as i have been told to. I will also incorporate a switch, the
network will all have a connection to the switch which will be connected to the getaway the computers are connected to the
switch which permits them to connect.
Alternative design

In this diagram i have showed that the 3 computers are all connected to the switch and is connected to the router, all three
computers and the router are connected to the switch and the the router is connected to all 3 computers
Set up and configurations
In this slide is all about the setup configuration this is where you build your ip and the hardware and software that act on
the security posture and use of the information system
Design justification

This achieves the user requirements by having everything the need at a cheap price so this shows that the music shop will
have money to invest elsewhere i have introduced 3 high spec computers and a printer also a router. The alternative
design has been rejected as it is expensive and not a high level as the key design .The ethernet cable could be in the way
and could be considered a hazard.
