CHAPTER 1
 Introduction
Background of the study

Robots are interesting because

they exist as a real technology that
you can really study. They are
sometimes group according to the
time frame in which they was first
widely used. First generation robots
date from the 1970s and consist of
stationary, non-programmable,

electromechanical device without

sensors. Second generation robots
where develop in the 1980s and can
contain sensors and programmable
controllers. Third generation robots
where develop between approximately
1990 and the present. This machines
can be stationary or mobile
autonomous and insect type, with
sophisticated programming, speech

recognition and/or synthesis, and

other advanced features.
As we talk about robots, the first
thing that gets inside our mind is
that a device that moves in
different ways. This study focuses
on the movements of the robot and
the creation of air that goes out
from the fan. Fan is a mechanical
apparatus that is commonly used on
hot days. This season we are really
experiencing the hotness of the sun,
because of that this fan can be used
anywhere and anytime. This fan is
battery stored that makes us do our
work easier, most of the people
wants to make it easier to do things

from now. And because we are

surrounded by technologies it makes

us enjoy life in a better way. This

device can be attracting because of

the design that we are making

to make it fancy. As we are being
attracted by any moving things and
lifelike devices, especially as we can
see a device with a wonderful and
colorful designs. This fan is handy that
we can bring it anywhere, being happy
with this device is a bonus!
•Statement of the problem

This study will be conducted to help

reduce the plastic bottles around us.
Specifically this aims to answer the
following questions:

1.How can this study help from

reducing plastic bottles?
2. What will be the benefit of this
study to the people?

3. How can this study encourage

people to use it?
• Hypothesis

1.As the way of recycling, wasted plastic

bottles can be used again to make
another product.

2.This study is battery stored, so people

can use it anywhere, anytime without
worrying about electricity.
3. The researchers decided to make a
catchy kind of design to this device
and to help people consume
electricity.
Significance of the study

Robots are really attracting as it

moves. Fan is our bestfriend especially
on hot days and because our device is
battery stored we can bring this
anywhere and anytime even if there is
no electricity during
blackout we can use this device.
The following will also benefit from
this study:

USERS – people will no longer need

to buy an expensive electric fan
instead they can make their own
fan in just using and recycling the
plastic bottles on their surroundings
and just adding some materials. They
may save a lot especially money and
they can also consume electricity.

SELLERS – they are going to provide

some people an improvised/recycled
fan that can lessen the hotness that
they feel without thinking the usage
of their electricity.

PRODUCERS - most of the people

nowadays prefer to make a “DIY”(Do It
Yourself) things themselves instead of
buying an expensive one. This product
may benefit some producers because

they can do this by themselves and

they can just find plastic bottles

in their surroundings.

FUTURE RESEARCHERS – This study can

help them to think of new ideas

Wherein they can get a lot of
information so that they can make
another products that are made from
the plastic bottles.
Scopes and limitation

This will focus only on the

creation of air from the fan and the
movements of the robot.

This study will be conducted in

Barangay Dangula-an, Anilao, Iloilo.
The materials on making the robot
will also be taken in Dangula-an.

This study will be conducted on march

2019.

Definition of terms

The following terms used in the

study are given with their
respective conceptual and
operational meanings to ensure
clarity and precision:

Robot – is a machine that moves in a

different way. Robot comes from the
Czech word “robota” which means
“forced work or labor.” Everything
that we can see that moves makes us
feel good. We use the word "Robot"
today to mean any man-made machine
that can perform work.
Recycling – is our way of re-using
wasted things. In this study the
researchers will use plastic bottles
to reduce the wasted materials in
our surroundings. In school we are
told to understand the three R’s(Re-
use, Reduce, Recycle)because
all wasted materials still have its
purpose

Battery Stored – it makes us do our

work easier if our things are
battery stored without worrying the
usage of our electricity.
Battery source is a stored energy that
is used for a current device. A
battery is a device consisting of one
or more electrochemical cells with
external connections provided to power
electrical devices such as
flashlights, smartphones, and electric
cars.
Fan- is a device that creates a
current of air that is commonly used
by people especially on hot days.
This time we are experiencing hot
seasons, this study will help us
because we can use this anytime and
everywhere on hot days.

 Review Of Related Literature

RECYCLING
-Recycling is the process of
converting waste materials into new
materials and objects. It is an
alternative to "conventional" waste
disposal that can save material and
help lower greenhouse gas emissions.

-Reduces the amount of waste sent to

landfills and incinerators.

water and minerals.

ROBOTS

- Robots are usually attracting as

we see it moves. Robot comes from the
Czech word “robota” which means

word "Robot" today to mean any man-

other actions normally performed by
humans, either automatically or by
remote control. Robotics is the
science and study of robots.

BATTERY STORED
A battery is a device consisting of
one or more electrochemical cells
with external connections provided to
power electrical devices such as
flashlights, smartphones, and electric
cars. When a battery is supplying
electric power, its
positive terminal is the cathode and
its negative terminal is the anode.
FAN
•

An apparatus with rotating blades

that creates a current of air for
cooling or ventilation. A fan is a
powered machine used to create flow
within a fluid, typically a gas such
as air. A fan consists of a rotating
arrangement of vanes or blades which
act on the air. The rotating
assembly of blades and hub is known
as an impeller, a rotor, or a
runner. Usually, it is contained
within some form of housing or case.
This may direct the airflow or
increase safety by preventing
objects from contacting the fan
blades. Most fans are powered by
electric motors, but other sources
of power may be used, including
hydraulic motors, handcranks,
internal combustion engines, and solar
power.
