WELCOME SPEECH

• Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!

• On behalf of ABC Company, I’d like to welcome all of you
to Ho Chi Minh City.
• Let me introduce myself. My name’s (your name and
spelling). And this is our driver, Mr. (name and spelling).
• During the next few days, I will be your tour guide. I hope
we can work well with each other and I hope you will enjoy
your stay here.
 BRIEFING NECESSARY INFORMATION
• We have just arrived at Tan Son Nhat airport, one of the biggest
international airports in Vietnam. It is about 8 kilometers from the city
center and it takes about 30 minutes to get there.
• We will check in at the hotel first and have some rest. Then we will
go for lunch and have a city tour afterwards in the afternoon. The tour
will finish by 5 PM.
• The local time is 10 AM, 7 hours ahead of the GMT (GMT+7) and
from now on we will use local time for all activities. So please set the
local time on your watch.
 BRIEFING NECESSARY INFORMATION
• During your stay here, you may try some local Vietnamese food and
drinks. Some popular food and drinks are Pho noodle soup and local
beer 333. Tap water is not potable, so just drink only bottled water or
boiled water.
• Vietnam has a tropical monsoonal climate. It is very warm and humid
here all the year round, so casual wear is most suitable for the day
except for visiting the temples where proper wear should be taken.
• Shops usually open from 9 AM to 10 PM. Most shops accept cash and
credit card.
 BRIEFING NECESSARY INFORMATION
• In Vietnam, we use local currency Vietnam dong and the exchange
rate is about 23,000 VND to a US dollar.
• There are some money changers near the hotel, in the big shopping
centers and in the hotel.
• There are many public transports in the city such as buses, taxis,
rickshaws and taxi motorbikes. But the most convenient one is still
the metered taxi which charges you per kilometers used.
• Most taxis start at 12,000VND. For rickshaws and taxi motorbikes
you have to negotiate the price.
 BRIEFING NECESSARY INFORMATION
• Vietnam is a quite safe destination. However, for safety reasons, please
take good care of your belongings in public areas. There is a safe in the
hotel room, so I recommend you to leave your valuable things there.
• You are going to stay in the Rex hotel located right in the city center.
There are all kinds of facilities in the hotel like business center, fitness
center, a swimming pool, spa and sauna. In the room, there is cable TV,
wired and wireless internet connection, mini bar, complimentary coffee
and tea.
• Now we arrive at the hotel, please follow me to the lobby for check-in.
 MAIN ATTRACTIONS EN ROUTE

• On your right is the Institute of Traditional Medicine where physical therapy,

acupuncture and medical herbs are used for medical treatments.

• Again on your right, you can see a big pagoda – Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, which was

built in the 1970s in the style of traditional Vietnamese architecture.

• Along the street, you can see many art galleries with a lot of original and copied

paintings by modern Vietnamese artists.

 MAIN ATTRACTIONS EN ROUTE
• We are very close to the city center now. On your right is the Independence Palace,

where the former South Vietnamese presidents resided before 1975.

• In front of you is the Notre Dame Cathedral, the biggest Catholic Church built by the

French in 1877. We will be back here in the afternoon.

• We are now driving along Dong Khoi Street, which was known as Rue Catinat during

the colonial time. There are many boutique shops, restaurants and bars located here. We

will get to the hotel very soon.

 CHECK-IN AT THE HOTEL
• Please sit down and enjoy some welcome drink while I am doing check-in
formalities.
• May I have your passports for check-in procedures?
• Please sign your registration card and here is your key. You are going to stay on
the fifth floor.
• The restaurant for breakfast is on the ground floor. Breakfast will be served
from 6 AM to 10 AM.
• The lift is over there, and we will meet here again at 12:15.
