 Acquiring jobs and skills that match one's educational
qualifications is an enormous obstacle on a worldwide basis.
Skills mismatch refers to the incoherence of the required
educational level for a specific job.
There are still a lot of Filipinos that are unemployed and
forced to apply for a job that is not inclined with their acquired
degree.
Rationale Tracer studies are important in finding if graduates’
education had prepared them well for the transition from school
to work.
In light with this, the researchers decided to conduct this
study which aims to examine:
• employment background
• their perceptions on the relevance of their selected program
curriculum
• useful competencies, and values learned in the university

Main Problem
The main objective of this research
study is to examine the employment
background of the Bachelor in
Elementary Graduates of Bohol Island
State University- Main Campus from the
years 2020-2023 as well as their
perceptions on the relevance of their
selected program curriculum, useful
competencies, and values learned in the
university that can be applied to their
employment.
Statement of the Problem
1.What is the graduates’ demographic
profile in terms of:
1. age;
2. sex;
3. civil status;
4. year graduated;
5. reasons for program selection; and
6. enrolment to another program?

3.What is the characteristics of graduates’ employment in terms of:
1. present employment classification of employed and underemployed
graduates;
2. present job classification of underemployed graduates;

6. employment place of work of employed and underemployed

The researchers will make use of two methods in
acquiring the profile of the participants.

 Descriptive-documentary method- in
gathering the profile of the graduates
from the registrar’s office of the school.

 Descriptive survey method and a

questionnaire- in collecting the
employment profiles of the Bachelor in
Elementary Education graduates

The study will be conducted at Bohol
Island State University Main Campus which is
located along Carlos P. Garcia North Avenue,
Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
It focuses only in College of Teacher
Education (CTE) from the rest of other college
departments. Hence, the Bachelor of
Elementary Education, the highlighted course
being involved in the study due to the reason
that it is in line with the researchers’ academic
course.
• Participants
Bachelor in Elementary Education
graduates from batches 2020- 2023
Reason:
They are in same field of specialization,
and they are interested about the relationship
and relevance of the values and competencies
that the graduates obtained at the university to
their professions and workplaces.
 Research Methodology

Instruments
Utilize the graduate tracer study questionnaire used in the tracer study of the Bachelor
of Secondary Education major in Mathematics Graduates of Bohol Island State University
Main Campus 2017-2020 conducted by Calunsag. et al, (2023).
The graduate tracer questionnaire is adapted and patterned from the Commission on
Higher Education (CHED) and from the Student Assistance and Services (SAS) office of
Bohol Island State University- Main Campus
The survey questionnaire is composed of four main parts: the general profile of the
participants, their educational background, the post-college programs they received and
lastly their employment data.
 Research Methodology

Phase 2- Actual Data Gathering

Phase 1- Pre-data Gathering
The researchers sent a letters to seek
authorization from the college of
Teacher Education Dean’s Office and
Campus Director to conduct the study.
The researchers will send a letter to the
Phase 3- Post Data Gathering
campus registrar and will request for
the complete list of the Bachelor in
Elementary graduates from years 2020-
2023 with their corresponding contact
details.
The researcher will be administering
the social networking sites such as
Facebook Messenger and Instagram to
easily contact the target respondents.
Also, for the ease of answering the online
questionnaire, the researcher will be
utilizing the Google form platform.
The researchers retrieved, tabulated,
and interpreted the data with the use of
the statistical treatment, analysis, and
interpretation. The gathered data from the
survey were treated with utmost
confidentiality.
