Clip: animatic made by Communication Design students

The story was taken to NID Vijaywada as a

pre-production workshop with
Ms. Trisha Banerjee.
Students made an animatic and designed
several fossil animals during those two
weeks.

Then the project goes on for making
a teaser with finished look and feel.
A few students from NID Vijaywada
started working as interns for
character design.

6

The plan is to make rigged 3D characters
out of this 2D designs with the sketchy
hand painted look, so that very dramatic
camera angle can be created during
animation as the teaser has a fight
scene between Isisaurus and Rajasaurus.

Several attempt was taken to create a
mesmerizing look and feel that will help the
story to transport the viewer into the world
about which it is talking.

Clip: A former version animatic.

This is a ‘work-in-progress’
storyboard for the teaser.
The aim is to make the
audience very much
interested about the
fascinating history of the
earth, that is probably much
more radical and impactful
than any fiction.

There are many ‘redo’
notes as self-reminders
as it is a
‘WIP’ storyboard.

Huge effort is being made
to keep the ‘science-part’
in tact from a
geo-scientist’s point of
view. Yet it should not
look like an explanatory
video is the challenge.

Prof. Hughes’s aim is to
spread awareness
about the earth
history so, that we can
behave more
compassionately
towards it in future.

12
7/14/2020
For speedy production an
animator from Kolkata has
joined the team. During
this bizarre time of
pandemic team Gutishuti
is continuing to perform
from three cities of India
along with Prof. Hughes
from California.
