Introduction
Grade 4 ( Science )

Unit: Plant Structure and Function

Lesson 1: Parts of the plants

Lesson 2: Parts of the flower

Lesson 3: Photosynthesis
Lesson 1: Parts of the plants

Lesson objectives:

1- Collect information about the function and structure of
plant parts.

2-learn how these parts are used for survival, growth,
reproduction, and behavior
First Technology Powerpoint presentation

Grab the students attention to the

lesson by presenting the warm up
activity using the powerpoint.
Using the ppt will increase the visual
impact and improve audience focus

Present a picture of garden, then ask

and answer questions
Second Technology: a video clip about the parts of
the plants

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3St51F4kE8&t=2s

Using video provides strong visual cues

for the learners. Watching short video
about the parts of the plants help
learners understand what are these
parts by linking the lesson objectives to
real world pictures that students will be
able to recall these information later.
Third Technology: Multiple choice Questions using
(ClassPoint)

By using ClassPoint to turn my (PPT)

slides into multiple choice questions
 Help students to summarize the
information we had in our lesson and
it’s a very effective and time saving
evaluating tool that helps me measure
my students’ understanding.
Lesson 2: Parts of the flower

Lesson Objectives
We are learning to identify the parts of the flower
and their functions.
All: will identify the parts of the flower.
Most: will identify the parts of the flower and explain
their functions.
Some: will identify the parts of the flower, explain
their functions and frame their own questions.
First Technology: Starter activity using a video
One Seed - Song and Lyrics by Rosemary Phillips - Bing video

1- Videos increase students

Video includes a song engagement.
that shows how seed 2- Provides opportunity for self
grows in to a plant learning.
and how are plants 3- Animations catch young
useful to us. students attention and
generate interest in a
particular topic.
Second Technology: Powerpoint presentation
Second Technology: Powerpoint presentation

PowerPoint shows the different parts of the flower . Students visualize the
parts of the flower, develop interest to dissect the real flower and name the
different parts of the flower and their functions. They also connect the
features of different parts to their functions e.g. colorful petals attract the
pollinators.

PowerPoints are one of the effective tools to present material in the

classroom and encourage student learning.
We can use PowerPoint to project visuals that would otherwise be difficult to
bring to class.
Teachers can choose to create their own designs according to the topic and
interest of students.
PowerPoints can be easily shared with students and parents.
Third Technology:Feedback of PowerPoint using
Google Forms
https://forms.gle/syFfcHJvqKe2pTjGA

Feedback of the main activity evaluates the understanding of students

and gives feedback to the teachers which helps them in designing the
coming lessons.

Google forms are usually used to conduct assessment for students.

Teachers can easily create questions and check students results.
Results can be connected to a spreadsheet and recorded easily.
Different styles of questions can be designed.
Fourth Technology:Online Game for Assessment

https://www.turtlediary.com/game/parts-of-a-flower-labeling.html
This online educational game asks the students to name different parts
of the flower and notifies the mistakes. It reads the vocabulary words
for the students, hence helps them to pronounce the keywords
correctly.
Educational games are one of the effective ways to assess the
learning of students without making students feel that they are
taking a test.
Online games or quizzes keep track of the questions
students get wrong and notify the students about their
mistakes.
Lesson 3: Photosynthesis

Lesson Objectives:

1-Investigate the process of food making in
plants( photosynthesis)

2-Identify the things which is required for
photosynthesis.

3-Summaries the topic of photosynthesis.
First Technology: PowerPoint presentation
In the PowerPoint, students can
visualize the main requirement for the
plant to do the photosynthesis. They
can also develop understanding of the
photosynthesis equation, inputs and
outputs of the photosynthesis proses

PowerPoints are an effective tool to present

educational material and encourage
students to learn. They can be used to
project visuals that would previously have
been difficult to bring to class. In addition,
teachers can create their own designs based
on the students' interests.
Second Technology: Live worksheet

https://www.liveworksheets.com/ly2086594ch
Live worksheets are an effective
tool in ongoing efforts
encouraging our students to
engage their brains during class.

It has audio clip. The live work sheet

will enhance the learning skills of
students. Students need to answer the
questions so they will pay more
attention to the worksheet and its more
engaging for students.
Third Technology: Padlet
https://padlet.com/2020200932/ouyc2ifer30j6hy8
Students will summarize the process of photosynthesis on the given padlet. It's an
amazing tool that allow the students to share what they learned during the lesson,
the teacher can share her screen with the students and read their answer to give a
constructive feedback directly.
Fourth Technology:

For differentiated assessment:

Some students will not be able to summarize topic in the form of

paragraph so I will use quizizz to assess them.
