Technology Integration in the Classroom

E f f e c t i v e i n
technology tools to help them obtain
information in a timely manner, analyze and
synthesize the information, and present it
professionally. The technology should
become an integral part of how the classroom
functions -- as accessible as all other
classroom tools.

When effectively integrated into the


curriculum, technology tools can
extend learning in powerful ways.
These tools can provide students and
teachers with:
 Access to up-to-date, primary
source material
 Methods of collecting/recording data
 Ways to collaborate with students,
teachers, and experts around the
world
 Opportunities for expressing
understanding via multimedia
 Learning that is relevant and assessment that is authentic
 Training for publishing and presenting their new knowledge

Activity: Online Class Observation


To realize my Intended Learning Outcomes, I will work my way through these
steps:
Step 1: Approach the teacher (preferably from MonCAST) politely and ask for
consent that you will conduct an online class observation.
Step 2: Ask a copy of his or her pre-recorded video of the lesson, you may visit
the class page (leave after the observation), observe and review student’s output, or
evaluate any blended materials he or she is utilizing in the class.
Step 3: Describe how technology was integrated in the lessons and how the
students were involved.
Step 4: Use the Technology Matrix Tool to analyze and evaluate the technology
integration done by the teacher.
Online Class Observation
Read the following statements carefully before you observe (do not answer,
just read them).
1.What is the lesson?
2.What material and learning resources is the teacher using?
3.Observe and take notes on how the teacher presents and uses the learning
resources?
4.Closely observe the learners’ responses to the teacher’s use of learning
resources. What do their responses indicate? Do their responses show
attentiveness, eagerness, and understanding?
5.Focus on their non-verbal responses. Are they leaning forward showing their
interest in the lesson and in the materials?
