WORK PURPOSES
MR. JOSEPH BOYLES
INSTRUCTOR
COMMUNICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT
• This lesson is divided into three sub-lessons: writing
resumes, writing cover letters, and building interview
skills. All three are essential in your future job search and,
of course, in building your dream careers.
• You will begin with one of the most important writing tasks
in your entire career---writing a resume.
AT THE END OF THE LESSON, YOU SHOULD BE
ABLE TO:
a. Identify your key selling points through a Personal SWOT
analysis;
b. Analyze the different parts of a resume and their
corresponding functions; and
c. Write a clear, informative, and organized resume customized
to one’s qualifications and target position.
• In writing resumes, it is crucial that you organize
your resume around your strengths. But, you need to
remember that you only include those strengths that
are essential and relevant to the job.

High School where I also have joined and won
several Math competitions. My Math teacher
back in high school was my main inspiration to
become a Math teacher. At first, the decision to
become a Math teacher was not easy. My parents
wanted me to become an engineer because they
believed that a better future awaits me as an
engineer. But, as much as I would want to grant
my parent’s wish, I cannot make myself leave
my true calling.
