Training Effectiveness
Training effectiveness measures the impact of training on the trainee’s knowledge,
skills, performance, and the company’s ROI. The training’s goals and objectives
should be determined before training occurs, allowing these to be clearly and
accurately measured.
Example
The trainee’s productivity, sales numbers,
and overall mood and happiness might be
measured before the training occurs, and
then once again after it has taken place.
This demonstrates the quality and
effectiveness of the training provided and
enables businesses to either continue
doing more of the same or pivot their
approach.
Objectives
Evaluate the return on Investment of the training
Identify areas of Improvement
Enhance employee performance
Increase employee engagement and satisfaction
Align training with organizational goals

Predicting Training Effectiveness
with performance and Compensation
It is possible to use performance and compensation data to predict the effectiveness of training, as these variables
can provide insight into how employees respond to training and the impact that training has on their job
performance.
Performance data, such as sales figures, customer satisfaction scores, or productivity metrics, can indicate
whether employees have improved as a result of training. If employees who have undergone training show
improvements in their performance metrics compared to those who have not received training, it can suggest that
the training has been effective.
Compensation data can also be useful in predicting training effectiveness, as it can indicate whether training has
led to an increase in employee motivation and engagement. If employees who have undergone training receive
higher compensation than those who have not, it can suggest that they are more motivated and engaged in their
work, which can lead to better performance.

The only thing worse than training your employees and having them leave is not
training them and having them stay.
