Why Research Needs Ethics
GROUP WORK –THE REST OF LESSON

• Students are divided into groups of four.


• Number 1 to 4
• Number 1 and 2 support the deontological theories
• Number 3 and 4 support the consequentialist theories.
• In a group, each student reads a different article and analyse it through the lens of
ethics. They then support or oppose the given scientific research based on the ethical
theory given to them. (Each group to present your points on slides)
• Each group will then share their conclusion with the rest of the class in the next
lesson.
