• The word stomach powder consists of two


words, the stomach and powder.
• The word stomach is derived from
the Latin stomachus which is derived from
the Greek word stomachos, ultimately
from stoma "mouth"
• While the word powder is taken from the old
French poldre meaning dusty and some
people say that it is taken from Latin word
pulvis meaning powder.

• It is a herbal product made up of certain


herbs (may be seeded, leaves, bark, stem or
roots) which are mixed with certain salts and
used to act as a tonic on the stomach.
Or
• It is a mixture of herbs and salts and used to
act as a stomachic ( tonic) on the stomach.
