Convention on the Rights
of Child (CRC)
 Was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly
on November 20, 1989.

 Became an International Agreement on September 2,


1990, after it was ratified by State Parties including the
Philippines.

 It does not provide penal sanctions, but encourages State


Parties to enact Laws, Rules and Regulations implementing
the rights recognized in the Convention.

The Philippines agreed to obey (ratified) the
Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) on
July 26,1990.

 That means our government now has to make


sure that every child has all the rights in the
Convention.
