OBJECTIVES
◦Identify the squares and rectangles out of an
irregular figure.
◦Apply the formula in order to find the area of an
irregular figures made up of squares and
rectangles using sq. m and sq. cm.
◦Cooperate actively in doing the activities.

◦ Total Area= A1 + A2
◦ = 32 cm2 + 16 cm2
◦ = 48 cm2

◦ Total area of their garden is 48 square centimeters.


In finding the area of irregular figures made up of squares and
rectangles:
1. Divide or cut the figure into squares and/or rectangles.
2. Find the area of each square and/ or rectangles made;
3. Add the areas of the square and/or rectangles made to find the area
of the irregular figure; and
4. Express the area in sq. m or sq. cm
