EFFECTS OF WATER POLLUTION
Contamination of the
food chain
• Fishing in polluted waters and the use of waste water for livestock farming and agriculture
can introduce toxins into foods which are harmful to our health when eaten.
Destruction of
biodiversity
• Water pollution depletes aquatic ecosystems
Disease
• The WHO estimates that about 2 billion people have no option but to drink water
contaminated by excrement, exposing them to diseases such as cholera, hepatitis A and
dysentery.
Infant mortality
• According to the UN, diarrhoeal diseases linked to lack of hygiene cause the death of
about 1,000 children a day worldwide

Respiratory and
Heart Problems
• heart conditions like asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, heart attacks and strokes
along with cancer.
Child Health
Problems
• Exposure to high air pollution levels during pregnancy causes miscarriages as well as
premature birth, autism, asthma and spectrum disorder in young children.
Acid Rain
• the water droplets combine with air pollutants, becomes acidic and then falls on the
ground in the form of acid rain. Acid rain can cause great damage to humans, animals,
and crops.
Effect on Wildlife
• Toxic chemicals present in the air can force wildlife species to move to a new place
and change their habitat. The toxic pollutants deposit over the surface of the water and
can also affect sea animals.

CONCLUSION
As each second pass by, our mother nature is suffering due to our arrogance and ignorant, even though without its
nurture we would not be who we are today, on the peak of the food chain, with high intelligence.
It is time for humanity to put focus on our environment rather than pursuing political power, fame and enormous wealth.
All of these would be nothing if we have no suitable habitat to live in.
And yes, the main cause of the pollution of mother nature is the overpopulation of humanity. Because of it, construction,
transportation of goods, agriculture and livestock farming become high in demand. It is these human activities that are
disrupting the carbon cycle and oxygen cycle of mother nature.
I strongly believe that if every nation in the world work together as one in researching and developing a solution, we
would achieve a balance between the urbanization of humanity and nature.
