What do you know about Cartesian Plane?
In a Cartesian plane, how many quadrants it composed?
What do you call the vertical line in the Cartesian plane?
What do you call also the point that the x ad y axes
intersected?
CARTESIAN COORDINATE PLANE is composed with
two perpendicular number line that meet at the point of
origin (0,0) and divided the plane into 4 regions called
quadrants.
Each point in the coordinate plane is composed of ordered
pairs (x,y).
Example : (3,4) (-5,7)
The First coordinate of a point is called the x-coordinate
or Abscissa and the second coordinate kis the y-coordinate
or the Ordinate.
The signs of the first and second coordinate f a point vary
in the four quadrant.
Signs of the four quadrant
QUADRANT 1 = ( + , + )
QUADRANT 2 = ( - , + )
QUADRANT 3 = ( - , - )
QUADRANT 4 = ( + , - )

Cartesian Plane.
Ordered Pairs in Real-life Situation
Lets try to apply it in your seating arrangement. We can
also determine ordered pairs.
Let X = be the column of your chair
Y = be the row of your seat
