LESSON OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the topic, you would be able to:
1. Calculate the total resistance of the circuit.
2. Calculate the voltage, current and power in each
element.
3. Apply Ohm’s laws to analyze electrical circuits.
Series Connection
Series circuit is a circuit where the components are
connected end-to-end in a line.
Parallel Connection
Parallel circuit is a circuit where all components are
connected across each other’s leads

Series - Parallel Circuits
If circuit components are series-
connected in some parts and parallel
in others, we won’t be able to apply
a single set of rules to every part of
that circuit. Instead, we will have to
identify which parts of that circuit
are series and which parts are
parallel, then selectively apply series
and parallel rules as necessary to
determine what is happening.
