SIMPLE CIRCUITS

Definition: A simple circuit is a basic electrical circuit that consists of a power source (such
as a battery or power supply), a load (such as a light bulb or motor), and a conductor (such

as a wire) that connects the two. It is called "simple" because it has only a few components

and is relatively easy to understand and analyze. Simple circuits are the foundation of more

complex circuits and electronic devices. They allow us to control the flow of electricity to

power and operate a wide range of electrical and electronic systems.

Some of the basic circuit components:

1)Resistors: Resistors are components that oppose the flow of current in a circuit.
They are used to control the amount of current that flows through a circuit and are
measured in ohms (Ω).

2)Switches: Switches are components that allow a circuit to be turned on or off. They
can be mechanical or electronic and are used to control the flow of current in a
circuit.

3)Power source: A power source such as a battery, power supply, or generator is

required to provide electrical energy to the circuit.

4)Conductors: Wires or other conductive materials that allow current to flow through
the circuit and connect the different components together.

5)Load: A component that consumes electrical energy such as a light bulb, motor, or
resistor.
How To Draw A Circuit?

To draw a circuit, you can use a schematic diagram. A schematic diagram uses
symbols to represent the components in the circuit. The symbols are connected with
lines to represent the wiring of the circuit.

Proportioning Resistance and Voltage:

To proportion the resistance and voltage in a circuit, you need to use Ohm's Law.

Ohm's Law states that the current flowing through a conductor is directly

proportional to the voltage across the conductor and inversely proportional to the

resistance of the conductor. The formula for Ohm's Law is:

I=V/R

where I is the current in amperes, V is the voltage in volts, and R is the resistance in

ohms.
