The College of Asian and Islamic Studies, Western Mindanao
State University aims to:

towards a thorough understanding of the regional cooperation
extra-regional affairs.
b.To foster knowledge in academic researchers bound to enquire
the chronicle of verified unknown topics within the ASEAN
latitude and beyond.
c.To engage in professional linkages with other ASEAN and
Islamic Universities for integration in the field of scientific, literary
and historic narratives via research enterprises and other
sponsored endeavors.

• COURSE TITLE : READINGS IN PHILIPPINE
HISTORY
• COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course enables to
understand the significant events using credible and
authentic primary sources based on the evidences or
proofs in the Philippine History. It describes the
important turning points in Philippine history from
prehistoric times up to the contemporary period and
articulate various perspectives using primary sources.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the semester, the students can:
1. Gain better understanding in the experiences of the Filipino
people in the past focusing on the primary sources.
2. Appreciate the people, events, time and places in our
history through primary and secondary sources.
3. Present evidences/proofs regarding facts using primary
sources in shaping our history.
4. Develop a deep sense of pride and identity as a Filipino
through patriotism which will lead to action in making a
significant contribution to nation building.
5. Evaluate critical context on the primary and secondary
sources of the Philippine History.
