ALL BANDS!!!!

 Everyone in band class needs to turn in their ICL (Continuity Log)

for Week 2 (March 30-April 5) via email, Canvas, or on FOCUS by
Tuesday! I NEED WEEK 1 AS WELL IF YOU HAVE NOT
TURNED IT IN YET!

 To get the one hour of music participation, you can listen to music,
practice your instrument, have a lesson (either a private lesson
teacher or Mr. Halpin) Music note flashcards, Music terms,
counting and clapping. Anything that is associated with you
creating or consuming music. Passively listening (like doing HW
to music, or listening to music while exercising is not the same!

LISTENING LOGS

 Starting on Monday, students will have guided listening to

complete. Using the Matthews Model Musician Sounds List,
students will listen to soloists/chamber ensembles/large
ensembles and then write a small reflection to the form. I will
post the link for the Google Form at the end of the presentation,
as well as the Matthews List.

 This will by due by Sunday (so if you miss a day) you can make
it up. It is better to break up the listening than to do it all at once
(Just like practicing, or studying for a test).

Beginning Band

 FILL OUT YOUR LOGS!!!!!

 Continue working on our concert scales! Take a look at your concert Db

scale. On Canvas (and classroom connect) you can actually play along
with the scale as well as the rest of our Major scales scales.

 Fill out a scale worksheet for our Concert Db scale.

 I will have a rhythm counting exercises for you to practice and take a
look at!

 Music! Any of the music that I have passed out, exploring SmartMusic (I
get practice reports on smart music) to continue making music.

Wednesday the 22nd! Look through the real book (DO NOT
PRINT UNLESS YOU WANT 500 PAGES

(free and there are HUNDREDS of songs!

Symphonic Band

 PLEASE SEND ME YOUR LOGS!!!!

 Practice your 2 octave chromatic scale and 7 major scales!

Send me a recording of each! Major Scales (Scale Challenge
Style) and then chromatic scale.

 I will be posting an etude for us to look at and work on later in

the week. I will update remind/classroom connect/email. Send
me a recording ( April 22nd)

Class Meetings

 I will be sending out a revised schedule of class meetings

shortly as well as a user agreement for students and parents to
sign and turn back in (electronically). An email back would
suffice as an acknowledgement/signature.

 I am authorized to do one on one lessons for this week starting

at 1:00 on Monday. Give me a time that you are available, and I
will try my best to fit you in with my schedule!

But seriously…

 I have received only a handful of logs from the first and second
week (Mostly Symphonic Band Members).

 The log is something that you do (and is due) EVERY WEEK!

 I am trying to be flexible with what I need you to accomplish

week in and week out, (especially with academic subjects taking
a long time) but to not do the logs is simply unacceptable. If you
need any help with the log, filling it out, or questions about it,
PLEASE CONTACT ME.
