About project site
What is project management ?
SCHEDULING

 It is a time table for action.

 Time scheduling is the process of
developing a work programme .
CONSTRUCTION PLANING OF
PROJECT
 Construction planning is required for completion
of project well within the stipulated time,
incorporating the laid down specifications at the
lowest practical cost.
 The construction planning of a project may be
divided into three parts and they are:-

1. Material
2. Labour force
3. Finance schedule
PURPOSE OF WORK
SCHEDULING
 It simplifies the project plan
 It validates the time objectives
 It optimizes the resources employed
 It forecasts input resources, and
predicts the output
 It evaluates the implications of
scheduling constraints
METHODS OF PREPARING
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE

 Following are commonly used methods

for planning-
1. CRITICAL PATH METHOD (C.P.M.).
2. PERT.
3. BAR GRAPH METHOD.
4. WORK BREAK DOWN METHOD (W.B.S.).
LABOUR DESIGN

 Labour requirement was calculated as per the

standards of P.W.D. hand book. The procedure
is as follows-
Suppose the quantity of work is” A” cum of sq.m or
rm.
As per standards “N” number of labours can work
“B” quantity of work.
Number of labours required “T” = (N× A)/B
Suppose the number of days for work “A” is “M”
days,
Then number of labours required per day = T/ M
DATA COLLECTION-
Data collected was regarding;
1. Activities involved.
2. Labour requirement.
Tool used for scheduling
 Microsoft Project
CONCLUSION AND FUTURE
SCOPE OF WORK
CONCLUSION
 After interaction with Mantri Group and Professional project
management consultant we were able to understand the
methodology of planning, scheduling, monitoring and controlling the
activities to achieve the project objectives.
 Due to proper schedule of activities and labour, labour material and
machine were judiciously used.
 Due to scheduling of different activities uninterrupted financial inflow
was achieved
 Usage of M.S.Project software as a tool helped in scheduling of
activities easy.
THE FUTURE
 The duration of activity schedule given by us can be reduced by
network crashing.
 New technique like E.R.P (Enterprise Resource Planning) can be
used.
