COMMUNITY BASED PROJECT

WHAT IS A PROJECT?
An undertaking that is carefully planned carried out to
achieve a particular aim.
Simply put, it is a series of tasks that need to be
completed to reach a specific outcome.
Characteristics of a real community project:
i. It seeks to give an answer to/solve a problem.
ii. It has an goal.
iii.It has a life span, no project is endless.
iv.It should have an impact to the community.

 Phase 1: Project initiation
Phase 2: Project planning -develop the project schedule/
stages
Phase 3: Project execution
Phase 4: Project closing -results
PHASE 1: PROJECT INITIATION
 Identify a problem its effects/impacts to the community.
The school is unable to buy balls. The school does not
participate in ball game competitions …….
 Formulate a project to solve or reduce the impacts of the
problem.
Market Gardening
 Set aims/goals of the project.
To sell vegetables and generate income to buy balls.
 State resources needed.

 Develop the project schedule or master plan.

ii. Sharing on the dangers that may be created by the advancing
gulley.
iii.Requesting for the permission to do the project.
iv.Requesting for permission to use learners in carrying out the
project.
v. Requesting for advice on how to involve the community.
