Think carefully about the professional qualities this EPE will require.
Consult the Professionalism and Collegiality Involvement Rubric provided and reflect specifically
upon your own professional growth as demonstrated throughout this past academic year.
Consider your ability to successfully manage both the completion of academic course work (4 – 5
courses in fall) with responsibilities within the assigned classroom placement.
To apply for this opportunity, you need to write a one-page letter of application, addressed to the
Student Placement Officer. Please outline the reasons you believe you are suitable for this
experience using the topics from the Professionalism and Collegiality Involvement Rubric, as well
as describe how this experience will enhance your professional growth.
This letter must be emailed to the Student Placement Officer no later than 4 pm on April 27th, 2023.
Reflection shared in the letter of application will offer an in-depth look at student growth and
possible suitability for this Extended practicum Experience. Ultimately, a decision about placements
will be made in consultation between the Student Placement officer, Program Coordinator, Program
Chair, Education course instructors and faculty supervisors from previous terms.
Offering this EPE is ultimately contingent upon having enough teacher mentors volunteering.
We will be in touch with all of the EPE candidates throughout the spring with updates.
