Muscular área covered externally by skin and mucosa internally
Functions.: digestion, speech, and gestual expession of the oral
region.
The tongue

Is a mobile muscular organ ,it occupies the


oral cavity and part of the oral portion of
the pharynx. Has taste receptors, wich
detect flavors.

Palate
It corresponds to the roof of the oral cavity.
Main function is to separate the oral cavity from the nasal cavity,
it is divided into the hard palate at the front and the soft palate at
the back.
HARD TISSUES

Teeth are made up of three hard tissues:


enamel
dentine
cement
and a soft one, the dental pulp.
There are 20 teeth in the primary dentition
and 32 in the permanent dentition.
