What is a compound sentence?

A compound sentence contains 2 or more independent clauses.
The clauses are joined together by:
• a coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS) that goes after a comma (,)
• a semi colon (;)
• a conjunctive adverb (however, besides, moreover ...)
*Notice: Put a semicolon (;) before the conjunctive adverb and put
a comma (,) after.
I don't know how to bake, so I buy the bread already made.
