• The limited us to working on sanitized versions
of database which not provide the same level
of practical knowledge
Objectives of the internship

General Objective &Specific

Objectives
Responsibilities of our Department in the
bank
• Managing and maintaining the bank's
computer systems
• Network administration
• Data management and security
• Software development and support….etc
General Objective

• The main objective of this internship is to

prepare us for the real working environment
that we are going to face after graduation

• and also the aim is to practice the knowledge

gained in class room to solve real problems.
Specific Objectives

ability…. etc
Knowledge Acquired during Internship
• From this internship we get knowledge with practice
• get hands-on experience in various banking
operations such as account opening, cash handling,
deposit and withdrawal procedures and customer
service
• Some tools like virtualbox, linux and how we use them
• Install of oracle database on virtual box
• Configuration of the database linux
• How to create database and how to be adimn and
work query
Methodology
• The methodology during an internship on bank
database would involve the following steps:
• 1. Familiarizing oneself with the bank's
database systems
• 2. Shadowing experienced database
administrators
• 3. Learning database querying languages such
as SQL
Theoretical activities
• The database structure in a bank refers to the
organization and arrangement of data within
the bank's database system
• Database structures are physical and logical
structures
Logical database structure

• A logical database structure in a bank is a way of organizing

the data stored in the bank’s database
• The logical structure of an oracle include:
• Schemas
• schemas object
• Table
• View
• Segment
• Extent
• Oracle data block
• Table space
Physical database structures
• These physical structures are used in a bank to store and manage the
bank’s data
• The physical structures of an oracle include:

• data file:are physical files in persistent storage that contain data

structures such as tables and indexes

• redo file:
set of file containing records of changes made to data within the datab
ase

• control file: root files that track the physical components of the
database
What is Rman (recovery manager?)

• Recovery manager is an oracle utility that can

be backup, restore and recover database files
• If updates to a database corrupt data, archives
can be used to roll back changes and restore
data if a backup is inconsistent.
Practical activities

Installation of Oracle Software

How to download virtual machine:

• In our practice we installed oracle linux 7.9 on

virtualbox 6.9 it was different from windows
• Oracle Linux 7.9 is an enterprise-class operating
system that is used in banks to run critical banking
systems
• Step 1: download and install oracle virtualbox 6.1
• Step 2: Download oracle Linux 7.9 ISO file
• Step 3: Create new virtual machine on virtual box
• Step 4: start the installation using the above ISO file.
How to install oracle database:

• Create new groups and user

• Setup password for oracle user
• Set secure linux to permissive
• Disabled firewall
• Create directories in which oracle software
will be installed
• Setup oracle. bash profile with oracle user
How to create Databases
• Oracle universal installer (OUI) is used to install
oracle database software one of the installation
option is to create database

• Databases are used in banking applications to store

and process financial transactions from keeping
track of customer accounts, balances and deposits

Chapter 3
Conclusion and Recommendation

Conclusion
Assigning routine duties at the technical
department can be a valuable opportunity for
computer science students in a bank setting
. It allows them to apply their knowledge and
skills in a real-world environment
Recommendation
• I would recommend that banks consider
assigning routine duties at the technical
department to computer science students
