Biografi singkat
Carl Jung lahir di Kesswill, sebuah kota di Danau Constance, Swiss pada
tanggal 26 Juli 1875.
Jung memperoleh gelar Doktor dari Universitas Basel pada tahun 1990 dan
menjadi asisten psikiater Eugane Bleuer di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Burgholtzi di
Zurich. Tahun 1948, Jung mendirikan sebuah institute yang bernama C.G Jung
yang berlokasi di Zurich. Jung mengalami trauma yang menyakitkan pada
perang dunia pertama yang kemudian mendorong dirinya untuk melahirkan
teori-teori kepribadian yang fenomenal.
 Struktur kepribadian
Menurut Jung, dalam pandangannya, kepribadian manusia terdiri dari tiga komponen
sis tem yang terpisah, tetapi saling berinteraksi. Terdapat dua komponen yang lebih
kecil dan satu komponen yang luas dan kompleks serta menjadi inti dari teori Jung,
yaitu :

Yang termasuk dalam alam kesadaran ini, meliputi persepsi, memori, pikiran, dan
perasaan yang selalu ada dalam kesadaran kita setiap saat. Alam kesadaran ini,
berfungsi sebagai penyaring stimulus-stimulus disekitar kita yang kita terima.

Menampung informasi dari bahan yang tidak sadar tetapi dapat memuncul dalam kesadaran. Dalam realita
kehidupan sehari-hari, kita memiliki keterbatasan apa saja yang dapat kita perhatikan dalam waktu
tertentu. Disinilah kemudian terdapat arus bolak-balik antara kesadaran dan ketidaksadaran pribadi,

Jung menempatkan ketidaksadaran kolektif sebagai kekuatan paling berpengaruh dalam kepribadian. Cakupan dari
ketidaksadaran kolektif ini adalah pengalaman-pengalaman evolusioner yang universal atau arsetip. Ada 4 arsetip yang
berkembang dan memiliki peran khusus dalam kehidupan tiap individu yaitu :
• Persona
• Anima animus
• Shadow
• Self
 individuasi

Tujuan hidup manusia adalah untuk menjapai kesempurnaan yang

disebut individuasi atau realisasi diri. Individuasi berarti menjadi diri
orang itu sendiri yang biasanya hal ini dapat berkembang saat
seorang individu berdapa pada usia pertengahan. Individuasi bersifat
instinktif, dimana suatu tujuan perlu untuk diperjuangkan meskipun
di satu sisi jarang bisa tercapai.
Oleh karena proses individuasi bukan merupakan hal mudah serta memerlukan integrasi antara kesadaran dan
kekuatan-kekuatan tak sadar agar kedua sisi dapat berkembang dengan bebas, maka, diperlukan syarat-syarat
agar individuasi tercapai, diantaranya:

Keharusan untuk membiarkan diri kita dibimbing bukan oleh pikiran sadar
11 dan rasional, melainkan arus spontan dari ketidaksadaran.

Individuasi mengharuskan adanya pengorbanan tujuan-tujuan material yang

22 dialami individu saat masa remaja hingga awal dewasa.

33 Harus menyadari kekuatan Shadow yang bersifat destruktif dan konstruktif.

44 Dapat menerima biseksualitas psikologis tiap individu.

55 Adanya pelepasan persona/topeng.

 bioGRAFI SINGKAT
 Viktor Frankl lahir pada 26 maret 1905 di Wina, Austria.
 Seorang Profesor bidang neurologi dan psikiatri di The University of Vienna Medical School dan
guru besar luar biasa bidang logoterapi di U. S International University.
 Pendiri mazhab ketiga psikoterapi dari Wina dalam aliran logoterapi.
 Tahun 1930 Frankl meraih gelar Dokter dalam obat-obatan (MD.) dan pada tahun 1949 meraih gelar
Doktor filosofi (Ph.D) di Universitas Vienna.
 Awal karirnya sebagai teoritis dan praktisi psikoterapi dimulai ketika ia menjadi tawanan di kamp
konsentrasi Jerman pada tahun 1942 hingga 1945 dengan mempraktekkan psikoterapi kelompok
pada sesama tawanan di kamp konsentrasi.
Pendekatan kepribadian
“Pendekatan kepribadian Victor Frankl berdasarkan aliran logotherapy.”

 Teori kodrat manusia dibangun atas tiga pondasi; kebebasan kemauan,

kemauan akan arti dan arti kehidupan.
 Kesehatan psikologis sebagai pentingnya kemauan akan arti.
 Individu memiliki kehendak untuk memilih reaksi terhadap kondisi yang
terjadi.
 Kebutuhan manusia untuk terus mencari sebuah arti bukan untuk diri
sendiri melainkan untuk memberi maksud bagi eksistensi individu.
 Eksistensi manusia terdiri dari tiga faktor; spiritualitas, kebebasan dan
tanggungjawab.

Logotherapy berasal dari kata “logos” yang berarti arti. Logotherapy

membahas mengenai arti dari eksistensi manusia dan juga Teknik-teknik
untuk membnatu menemukan arti dalam kehidupan.
 Noogenic Neurosis

- Sebuah kondisi kekurangan arti dalam kehidupan.

- Individu yang mengalami noogenic neurosis berada dalam kondisi
kekosongan eksistensial.
- Penyebab: 1. ketika manusia kehilangan dorongan dan insting alamiah yang
menghubungkan mereka dengan alam.
2. Akhir abad ke-20 individu memiliki beberapa tradisi, adat
kebiasaan, dan nilai-nilai untuk menentukan tingkah laku.
- Tiga cara memberi arti dalam kehidupan menurut teori logoterapi:
1. Dengan memberi kepada dunia melalui sebuah ciptaan.
2. Dengan sesuatu yang kita ambil dari dunia melalui pengalaman.
3. Dengan sikap yang kita ambil terhadap penderitaan.

 Peningkatan ketegangan batin ketika mencari sebuah arti merupakan sebuah prasyarat Kesehatan
psikologis. Dimana jika suatu kehidupan kekurangan tegangan maka kehidupan tersebut
kekurangan arti.
 Arti kehidupan dapat ditemukan melalui nilai-nilai fleksibel yang dapat menyesuaikan dimana
individu menyadari kemampuannya sendiri.
 Orang yang sehat secara psikologis telah bergerak ke luar atau melampaui fokus pada diri dengan
mengadakan hubungan bersama seseorang atau sesuatu di luar diri sendiri.
 Orang-orang yang menemukan arti kehidupan mencapai keadaan transedensi-diri, yaitu keadaan
di mana individu melampaui dirinya sendiri untuk mememuhi kebutuhan pada tujuan hidup dan
menjadi pribadi yang sehat.
