GOOD MORNING CLASS!!
Let’s start the morning with a MORNING MEETING!!

1. Get into groups of 3-4: Make sure to introduce yourselves by Name, Age and
Birthdays!
2. Work together on your Warm-up.
3. Discuss questions & answers.
4. Then discuss your favorite things to do for fun.
5. After everyone is done we will share answers with the class.
Q&A’S
1. How does the greeting set a positive tone and provide a sense of
recognition?: Students are able to discuss not only their personal lives with
peers about something they enjoy, but also help each other academically.
2. What social skills are children learning and/or practicing during greeting?:
With this morning meeting students are learning how introduce themselves
to one another and learning about one other. This will help them be more
socially active and prepared to properly speak to others
3. How does the teacher manage behavior during the greeting?: I will be
walking around and will be using a voice level chart throughout the morning
meeting to make sure everyone is able to focus on what they’re doing.
SHARING TIME
Now let’s share with the class:
1. Everyone create circle next to your groups.
2. Then each person will share what they learned about each of their group partners.
3. Before you share you must introduce who you are talking about and tell me
about them.
4. If you have any questions about the warm-up, please share them with class.
5. If anyone knows how to help with those questions raise your hand to help each
other.

1. What are the community-building elements of this sharing?: Students will share about
each other and help each other out all in one morning meeting. This helps students
learn how to work together and help one another.
2. What social skills are listeners practicing?: Listeners in this exercise learn how to listen
to their peers and be more understanding and help problem solving.
3. What routines and behaviors do children need to learn and practice to be
successful with around-the-circle sharing?: Students must know how to properly
communicate with others and to be understanding of others.
GROUP ACTIVITY TIME
Now let’s go over the warm-up!
1. Everyone will need share their answers to each question.
2. If someone has a different answer or if the class has more than 1 different answer
the whole class will solve the question together.
3. Please make sure to be polite to one another and know that not everyone will
have the same answer.

skills being learned in this activity is communicating and problem solving.

2. What social skills are children practicing?: Students are able to work
together and understand that not everyone understands the content.

3. What academic skills are children practicing?: The students will be


working on the content for that week and will be working on their problem
solving skills.
MORNING MESSAGE
• Now that the warm-up has been completed, we will go over any questions that you
guys may have over what we learned yesterday.
• Please go to the big carpet and we will discuss it all on the white board
• After that we will then talk about today’s content and any special class and/or
school events.

the message?: Students learn to be aware of what’s coming up. This helps them
community wise to be more organized to be able to gather around with others.
2. In what ways does the content of the message support the academic
curriculum and engage the learners?: This engages the learners to not be afraid
to ask questions and to make sure that they fully understand the content.
3. What routines and behaviors do children need to learn to be successful with
morning message?: They need to learn how to ask questions and to be a good
listener, so that they don’t miss any important information.
