Intro to Illustrator

• If you have NOT learned Illustrator yet, you will need to go to the Intro
to Illustrator page found in the menus. You will be completing these
activites to help catch you up with the students that have already
been working in Adobe Illustrator.
Drawing in Illustrator

• Complete the following and get checked:Draw 3 shapes and then


draw lines across 1 each as normal, inside, and behind
• Create a star using the live paint tool and fill with 6 colors
• Create a new brush using image and use it as a art brush
• Create a new brush using image and use it as a scatter brush
• Draw with a new paint brush
• Draw with Blob Brush
• Paint with Patterns
Colors and Swatches

• Using colors when you are working is vital to using Illustrator. Download the Swatches worksheet to the right and use
the guide How to Swatches file. You will be using screen shots of what you are doing and adding these to the
worksheet in order to demonstrate that you can do the following:Using the image to the right, create a swatch for
each color in the image and put them in a color group
• Create a gradient swatch (using 3 colors you pick
• Make a pattern and create a pattern swatch
• Show me that you can locate the Middle Ages
• Display the Swatches as a Small List View
• Create a New Swatch group and create swatches for the following:
• #6D2CE0
• R: 0 G: 185 B: 89
• C: 70 M: 4 Y: 13 K: 40
• K: 67%
• H: 25 S: 92 B:72
• R: 0 G: 33 B: 55
• When you are finished, save your worksheet as last name + first name + period + Swatches and save into your Intro
Illustrator folder.
