WHAT’S NEW

Adobe Flash is a vector animation software designed to create animations that can
be played on web pages. It is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video, and
interactivity to web pages. Frequently, it is used for advertisement, games, and Flash
animation for broadcast.
Adobe Flash gives the viewers a more responsive rich-client-like experience. It has
the ability to manipulate vector and raster graphics to provide animation text, drawings
and still images.
Many websites have a variety of contents that were created using Adobe Flash
technology. To determine whether it is a content created using Flash authoring tool, all
you have to do is right-click on the object, and on the menu, there should be an “About
Adobe Flash Player” at the bottom.

WHAT IS IT
Adobe Flash documents are composed mostly of vector images. Drawn
objects in Adobe Flash produce vector graphics that can be exported to a vector file.
Like most programs, Adobe Flash software supports a variety of file types. Each of
which have individual purposes.
*.FLA- The main supported file type of Flash used to create artwork and animations. It
is similar to the relation of *.doc for Microsoft Word and *.xls for Microsoft Excel.
*.SWF- It is read as swift. The file associated with movies created using Adobe Flash
technology, an output of the raw. This could be a cartoon or an internet
application.
*.FLV- The video files for Adobe Flash Player. These are the actual movie files that are
Flash-based.
AS File- Also known as the ActionScript file. The file that contains interactive codes
used to control Flash applications.

Trace and Build Character Using Adobe Flash CS6

To trace character or object in Flash


1. Using a scanner, scan the model sheet and save it in your local drive.
2. Open Adobe Flash application.

3. Import the scanned model sheet.


a. Click on File Menu then Click import.

b. Locate the directory where you save the scanned Model Sheets.

c. Select the correct File name, then Click Open.


d. The scanned document will be imported to place on the Stage.
4. Using the Adobe Flash Drawing Tools, you can now Trace and vectorize the
Model sheets.
a. Change the Opacity of the object by 50% before you start tracing.
 Click on the object.
 In the Properties Inspection Panel>Color>Select Alpha
 Set Alpha Amount to 50%
b. Add another layer and start tracing (Click on Insert layer button)

c. You may use line tool, lasso tool, pen tool to trace or pencil tool.
d. After tracing the Model Sheet, you can now Start Applying colors.
