 Rich culture of Sikkim-
When it comes to culture, Sikkim has something to look forward to. Sikkim has a very rich
cultural heritage that is blended with a diversity of religion, tradition, and customs. People
of Sikkim don't only speak Sikkimese language or tribal language but also Hindi and
English. The mask dance is a traditional dance that is performed in Sikkim.
 Heritage of Sikkim-
Sikkim has a diverse and rich heritage demonstrated in
its old monasteries, culture and traditions. The state is
home to some beautiful monasteries painted in golden
and red colour and preserved in them is the opulent
history of Sikkim. The rich culture of Sikkim compels
one to trace its cultural heritage that has been passed
from one generation to another and is quite vibrant and
interesting to experience. Most of all, Sikkim greatly It is a land of the Himalayas,
boasts rich natural heritage. alpine lakes, meadows,
waterfalls, and glaciers that
justify when we call it a nature
lover’s paradise.

Khecheopalri lake-
khecheopalri lake lies in West Sikkim, perched at
an altitude of 2100 m and is approximately 120
km away from Gangtok.
Yuksom-
Yuksom was the first capital of Sikkim when three
Lamas converged from different directions and
crowned the first Chogyal (King) in 1641.
Attractions of Sikkim-
Rumtek Monastery-
this is Sikkim’s most famous monastery, and every visitor
to Sikkim is likely to visit the Rumtek Monastery, even in
a 3-4 day trip to Sikkim. Rumtek Village is 24 km away
from Gangtok (Sikkim’s capital), and the monastery is the
headquarters of the Black Hat Sector.
 TRADITIONAL DRESS OF
SIKKIM

Bakhu in the Nepalese dialect and Kho in the

Bhutia language, this is the primary traditional
costume worn by the Bhutia tribe of Sikkim
who make for a major section of the
Sikkimese population. Apart from the fact that
this piece of clothing is sleeveless, Bakhu
resembles somewhat a Tibetan Chuba which
is worn by both men and women.
