Ideological Rational with reference to Allama Iqbal (1877-1938)


Introduction:
A great ideologue, reformist, philosopher, poet, thinker, scholar and
Politician, Allama Muhammad Iqbal has been regarded as the
pioneer of the Ideology of Pakistan.
His great contribution to the struggle for freedom lies in his
presentation of the concept of Millat in a concrete and convincing
manner.
• His Political career:In 1926, Iqbal started his political career when
he was elected as member of Punjab Imperial Legislative Council. An initial
stage Dr Iqbal was a nationalist by ideas.
• Iqbal gave a new vision to the Muslim:
His idea was the establishment of a society based on Islamic
values.
 Allama Iqbal’s presidential address When he initiated the idea of
Separation.
 In fact Allama Iqbal was the first important public figure to propend the idea of
Pakistan from the platform of the Muslim League.
 Two Nation Theory:
In his address he expressed imperative of Two-Nation Theory in a very
consistent, logical and convincing manner.
 In March 1932, he again gave the framework of the proposed Muslim state.

• The ultimate solution which Iqbal presented to Jinnah became the


keynote of the Lahore Resolution and the basis of Pakistan Ideology.
Iqbal’s views about the Ideology of Pakistan are
 According to Iqbal the Ideology of Pakistan is based on the principles of Islam.
 Iqbal emphasized that life from Islamic stand point is a unity and no aspect of life is beyond
its jurisdiction.
 It was an aspiration of Iqbal to see the Muslim as a progressive, dynamic and dominant
nation.
 Islam to help them to overcome their internal disorder and enable them to meet external
challenges.
He reminded the Muslim;
 “You should not equate your community with Western; the nation of Prophet is unique in its
composition.
 His great contribution to the struggle for freedom s lies in his presentation of the concept of
Millat in a Concrete and convincing manner.
 He said,
